Would your grandparents or Sunday school teachers ever have espoused such the viewpoint you express or did they instead promote the principle of the golden rule?
PC is opposed to freedom of speech. You don’t have a right to not be offended. You have a right to freedom of speech. However very liberal public universities have tried to restrict their students’ rights by severely limiting the area in which they can exercise their freedom of speech and it was most often enforced against more conservative or non-PC speakers/subjects. Some countries have even passed laws making it so saying offensive things about or towards Muslims and other Pc protected groups as illegal speech punishable by fines or jail.

my grand parents grew up in an era where political correctness wasnt even heard of. the N word when referring to black people was common parlance when they grew up, in fact it was in common parlance when my parents grew up. in fact when i grew up it was just starting to leave the language lexicon, along with a number of other things as well. and then same thing went with my sunday school teachers, as well as my regular school teachers.

Hmmm...all I can say to that is, sometimes things really do get better.
I don’t think either candidate should “play in the mud” that way especially if you want to capture votes. I don’t care and you don’t care but maybe 10k in Michigan care.
So if 10K votes is essentially nothing, which I agree - pissing off any voters at all that make sense??? Well not really.
Calling women fat slobs isn't "playing in the mud." You're eating ____ at that point.
My point is that it's a double standard for Democrats. And it makes no sense.
If I recall correctly, Barack Obama won two presidential elections in convincing fashion, but yet I don't recall any articles about Republicans needing to reach out to Obama supporters to figure out where they went wrong, etc.
Independents make up a huge chunk of the voting block and possibly determine the outcome of an election. Not just votes from either Democrats or Republicans.
But if you want to be like Hillary and insult people who don't support you by calling them "deplorable", you'll lose support.
What some people see as PC, I see as just being courteous.
But, if you're not a courteous person, you might think it's a bridge too far to say, not call people "fatso" or to not refer to Muslims as "camel jockeys" or the like.
When people fight tooth and nail not to be "PC" I immediately think they're just fighting to be rude.
Which is very unbecoming.
