Really? What reward did Ghandi get for his hunger strike? What reward did Mother Theresa get? What reward did the buddhist monks who set themselves on fire get?

It was a Conservative Supreme Court Justice who made Gay Marriage the Law of the Land.

Good Grief ....

More dishonesty why are you trying to pretend that conservatives are champions of gay rights? One cherry picked example of a conservative being decent does nothing to cover up the fact that the platform of social conservatives is to deny gay people rights.

It comes down to tribalism and Trump is really sticking it to the people that red state America have long considered "deplorable" and they love it. So the question is, why does political correctness bother people so bad? What is so bad about being empathetic to people who may be different from the norm?

Your going to get a lot of odd answers to this one. I'll play it straight.

PC started out with good intentions. Racial slurs..sexist BS...all needed to be called out and dealt with. But...it was found that there is political power to be had in taking an extreme position on political correctness..both pro and con.

And away we went.

People who hate...are not amused at being singled out--for their positions. They feel victimized by the fact that the rules are changing..sometimes right in front of their faces.

People who are petty..and find power in that pettiness...are overjoyed to have a passive/aggressive weapon they can use on the 'bullies'.

PC seeks to shame people--and shame breeds anger..thus the extreme blow-back.

I bet a good chunk of people who don't like PC are the people who used to make fun of me and beat me up when I was a kid, who really don't think they did anything wrong when they were doing that to me.

I remember asking one of my bullies (who unlike the average bully, was actually a jock and one of the cool kids) what his problem was with me, and he said that it was his and his friends' duty to weed out the weak and make us social pariahs so that we couldn't reproduce 😒

I'm guessing his dad told him that and had been just like him when he was in school

And spite is a stupid reason to vote for a candidate.

And it still is. Reversing marriage equality is second only to overturning Roe v Wade and maybe rolling back transgender protections when it comes to the priorities of social conservatives.

Obama governed by popular opinion. He came around and supported gay marriage whenever the public was ready. It doesn't really matter anyways as social conservatives were against Obama even in 2008 because he was too friendly with the LGBT community and they didn't trust that he didn't support gay marriage even back then.

What are you talking about?

Ginsburg, Sotomayer, Breyer, and Kagen are all LIBERALS. Kennedy is a moderate. Scalia who voted against is a CONSERVATIVE and said gay marriage was a "threat to American democracy." How many anti-pc conservative states legalized gay marriage before the supreme court ruling?
