It comes down to tribalism and Trump is really sticking it to the people that red state America have long considered "deplorable" and they love it. So the question is, why does political correctness bother people so bad? What is so bad about being empathetic to people who may be different from the norm?

We have gotten to a very low, very ugly place in this country right now (and maybe the world too). There have always been political differences, but I have never seen this level of finger pointing, hatred, and people who are so angry that they chose a man who is 180 out of phase of what we would normally accept in the leader of this great country.

I have said before that, for God Know What Reason, a lot of people in America are pissed at something, so angry that they know the man they voted for is a total idiot, and the more idiotic he is the more they salivate. If he got up on that stage drunk and threw up, they would defend it and actually applaud it.

These are very, very strange times.

We've gone from "illegal aliens" to "undocumented immigrants" to "dreamers." Remember when Hillary even promised on the campaign trail that we'd never use the phrase "illegal immigrant" again? PC is just speech control meant to shut down dissident opinions (or in this example a majority opinion).

The "one cherry picked example" is the one who made it the law of the land.

A Conservative made it possible and you cannot stand it.

I'll be succinct - you're wrong, the liberals are right.

I just said a cherry picked example I could less who made it the law. Social conservatives are by there nature opposed to gay rights otherwise you aren't a social conservative its really simple. Watching the mental gymnastics you are using is really quite sad defending the undefendable. Its ok you can agree with me that denying gay people rights is stupid.

Sit down and ask Mike Pence how he feels about gay rights. He is the poster boy for the Conservative Right, and, while some of his flock pretend to be more progressive, they are just like Mike.

PC has some value, but it is at times taken to an extreme where we deny science and reality to promote PC. PC can also be used to shutdown legitimate political discourse.

With that said some level of PC is needed and Trump has crossed the line multiple times.

I hate PC because it has usurped common sense in this country.

When students are all rewarded on the same "participation trophy" level, with no extra rewards going to those who excel, then something has gone very wrong. That's just one of hundreds of examples. It doesn't bode well for the future.

I believe if something does not change, people 500 years from now will be looking back on us with tremendous admiration for our intelligence, because by then the average IQ in this world will be about 85.

You assume there are choices maybe the next vote isn’t out of spite but a Kennedy, Bernie or some other retread. Leftovers in the back of the fridge anyone???

I sound like I’m turning Left but maybe offending someone you are counting on for a vote or If you are simply touting a higher morale ground - this characterization doesn’t help capture votes. Should a white male or female from middle America be upset by this label?

I'm talking about innovation.

The only way, under true capitalism not the socialism we live under, to enrich yourself is to enrich others.
