There are some people who DO want to take your guns. There are some people who only want to take away certain KINDS of guns. But pretty much everyone who isn't an intellectual dwarf or a complete thug realizes by now that we need gun CONTROL.
A 12 gauge WILL kill someone just as thoroughly as an AR15, but it won't kill as many nor will it kill them as quickly.
I do think that paranoid individuals should be very very carefully scrutinized before allowing them limited access to weaponry.
You seem very paranoid.
"realizes by now that we need gun CONTROL."
NO, we need PEOPLE control.
"You seem very paranoid"
NO, it is the ANTI gun nuts who are paranoid toward the MILLIONS of gun owning law abiding citizens will KILL THEM with their gun.
It is the paranoid anti gun nut who shakes in their boots and **** their pants just at the SIGHT of a gun.
Disarming the public won’t stop dangerous violent criminals
From harming the community
Harming dangerous violent criminals will

Australia has seen a rise in gun crime over the past decade despite imposing an outright ban on many firearms in the late 1990s. Charges for crimes involving firearms have increased dramatically across the island nation’s localities in the past decade according to an analysis of government statistics conducted by The New Daily. It found that gun crimes have spiked dramatically in the Australian states of Victoria, New South Wales, South Australia, and Tasmania. In Victoria, pistol-related offenses doubled over the last decade. In New South Wales, they tripled. The other states saw smaller but still significant increases.
Experts said that the country’s 1996 ban on most semi-automatic firearms has actually driven criminals to those guns. “The ban on semi-automatics created demand by criminals for other types of guns,” professor Philip Alpers of the University of Sydney told The New Daily. “The criminal’s gun of choice today is the semi-automatic pistol.”
[…]Regardless of the reasons for the jump in gun crime, the numbers reveal the true size of Australia’s illegal gun market. “Taken together, the data suggests that despite our tough anti-gun laws, thousands of weapons are either being stolen or entering the country illegally,” The New Daily said. “The fourfold rise in handgun-related charges in NSW in the past decade points to the existence of a big illegal market for concealable firearms that seems to have been underestimated in the past.”
If you take guns away from law-abiding people (which is what Australia did), then only criminals will have guns. And that means that the criminals will become bolder in the face of their disarmed victims.
Remember when anti-gunners ridiculed anyone who said they are coming for your guns? Well, matter of fact they ARE coming for your guns. They just couldn't hold back any more. They finally realized it is not AR-15 that's killing people. A 12 gauge does just fine too.
"So now I’m angry. Now I’m finished trying to reason with you. So now I, a guy who was ambivalent about guns just a few years ago, want to take your guns away. All of them."
Don't worry, your guns will always be safe. As more children die. That's the new normal.
A 12 gauge WILL kill someone just as thoroughly as an AR15, but it won't kill as many nor will it kill them as quickly.
You're kidding, right?
15, 9mm projectiles, in one 00 buckshot.
Hunting "legal" 3+1 Remove the plug and it is 5+1
Some of the newer are 6+1 and mag loaded, with drum mags.
Now shorten the barrel and they don't call it a scatter gun for nothing.
Out of a 12 gauge load, a 9mm will go through you and the person behind you at 50 yards.
General purpose, I'll take the AR.
If I want to kill a lot of people, bunched in a herd in a gun free zone, I will take the shotgun.
You want people's loved ones sent to their deaths just because of a few bad apples?
That suggestion is just as bad as the suggestion to take away all guns.
Hypocritical politicians have no problem doing that by not allowing school faculty their 2nd Amendment rights.
Politicians who enjoy the comfort of armed guards while they bicker in the halls of congress...
That is the real question at hand, and I dont think many people can correctly answer it.
IN order to find who is really behind this rash of mass shootings, you have to look at who would benefit if public opinion on guns changed, in other words, who benefits when a population is disarmed?
Our founding fathers knew the answer and it was of great concern to them that such a Govt never come to power (or if it did the people would have the ability to step in and stop it immediately).
People must keep in mind, a tyrannical govt is not going to be something easy to recognize, they are going to disguise tyranny with other things (like safety, security, national security, etc), they are never going to just come out and say "well, we have become tyrannical, its time for you all to step up and revolt and remove us from power"! LOL
So, to be clear, if some nut wants to "take away everyone's guns," that's bad, but the even more dangerous extremists who want "guns for all, no questions asked," are to be seen as heroes? Laughable lunacy.
While I'm certainly not in favor of "no guns," I am very tired of watching the far-right continue to value guns more than lives and pretend that their warped interpretation of the 2nd Amendment is the only correct one.
