The Pastor should be charged with defamation of character. Even though the cop (from what I’ve read) suffered no backlash, IMO if you lie about someone’s actions you should be held accountable. There’s another case where a woman was pulled over and then claimed the cops tried to rape her. The body cams show no such thing happened, but the cops and their families are receiving death threats. Prosecute her to the fullest extent of the law and maybe the next liar will think twice.

When I was a kid I was stopped by a cop and basically verbally harassed. I beat the traffic citation and that pissed the cop off. I was later also in a situation that was very tense and scary and handled it completely calmly and luckily the police were equally calm and everything worked out without any escalation. I wasn't guilty of anything but the police didn't know that and I didn't do anything to provoke them or give them reason to get aggressive with me.
You have to know how to conduct yourself and the odds are you'll encounter police who also know how to conduct themselves. But sometimes the person is at fault for bad behavior and sometimes the cop is, or both. Its the old saying, " idiots collide with tragic consequences where normal people avoid trouble completely."
You see people with chips on their shoulder or who act like idiots and can't think straight. And then you have bully cops or poorly trained or incompetent officers who don't know how to handle a situation calmly, but that's more rare.

I am sick of the double standard. As a white, middle age, middle class, married male, with kids...anything out of my mouth is viewed as; racist, offensive, or insensitive. Yet...I see the reverse all the time; think ESPN, MSLSD, CNN, etc., Whenever a black spouts off about how terrible someone is based exclusively on their lack of pigmentation, it's AOK. As a teacher, in my profession, I cannot even correct or discipline a "student of color" because it's seen as culturally bias ( I KID YOU NOT). This basically assumes that anything "whitey" says is racist.

All this race baiting has the opposite effect; most people just ignore the claims anymore, or like me, anytime someone says something I don't agree with I say, "that's racist". Tongue in cheek of course but you get the point.

What you describe in the first paragraph reeks of a level of racism against a spec. type of White person that various liberal MSM news outlets might knowingly overlook.
