It is certainly true that liberal affirmative action judges people based on skin color over merit to a degree, but it is also true that not every black in college needed affirmative action to get into college.
She appears to be a person who makes bad choices (along with some of the nurses), which doesn't prove one way or the other that she needed affirmative action.
Thank you. What that doctor did just shows poor choices and poor judgement. Considering alot of the malpractice suits that have taken place, I wonder how many people will blame that on affirmative action.
I wish OP hadn’t made this thread about AA as this is a horrifying story. The local report is even more damning, especially the longer video at the bottom of the article. Videos of exposed butts in the air shot from the foot to show the victim’s crack while the “doctor” mocks her patient. A psychopath with a scalpel.
Every single person in the room one each of those videos (save the victims) should be stripped of every possession for decades. Yes, that is my immediate emotional response but these people are pure evil. I have seen videos where nurses have mocked the patient under anesthesia, but never to such a sadistic level as this woman and the pseudo medical professionals in the room with her.
If that was my doctor, I would be very upset. That doctor needs her license stripped from her. I wouldn't want my doctor doing stuff like that. Sad, and scary to a degree. And it could of been a doctor of any race/ethnicity doing this.
There is one concern I do want to mention. There is a part of me that thinks "Why, ma'am, why? You know you just made Black people look really bad. Black people are already looked down on more, relative to other groups of people. You just lived up to nasty stereotype. Someone is going to see this and say 'see, this is why we don't like Black people' ". Part of what I'm talking about is manifested in the OP.
What is the point of affirmative action in college admissions? It makes no sense. Just accept everyone based on merit. If that means less white people and more Asians than so be it. Putting a kid in a school where they can not compete, will feel isolated and ultimately drop out or start protesting and rebelling does no one any good. They would be better off in a school that will teach them at their learning speed. The schools say it's to improve overall education because of diversity but there's no evidence to suggest that diversity improves everyone's education. Kids who get into schools based on their race have a 50% drop out rate.
Isn’t this the diversity and multiculturalism that democrats are so hungry for and keep pressuring us to
enthusiastically embrace?
