If Trump Made a Deal With Putin to Destabilize NATO and Return Putin to G7, Would He Behave Any Differently Than He Has? (enemies, leader)

What Trump has done to the relationships we have with our allies, pulled us from agreements, treated our allies with hostility and implemented tariffs on them in the name of "national security" has been deeply concerning. But now, he calls for Putin to be returned to the G7 after Putin was removed for invading Crimea. Trump is being investigated for a number of interactions with Russia and now this? Trump pulls us further away from our allies every single day. Every day the relationships get worse and now he thinks Putin needs to be welcomed back into G7?
"The last twenty four hours of attacks on our closest allies capped by President Trump’s seemingly out of the blue demand to bring Russia back into the G-7 (making it again the G-8 which it was for most of the post-Cold War era until Russia was expelled over the annexation of Crimea) simply brings the matter into a newly sharp relief. If candidate Trump and President Putin had made a corrupt bargain which obligated President Trump to destabilize all U.S. security and trade alliances (especially NATO, which has been Russia’s primary strategic goal for 70 years) and advance the strategic interests of Russia, there’s really nothing more remotely realistic he could have done to accomplish that than what he has in fact done."
No, If he acts like a Russian stooge and walks like a Russian stooge, he's a Russian stooge.
Seriously, he flips out and does this whole twitter tirade, attacks and insults multiple countries the night before, then says Putin should be there? Even ignoring how embarrassingly Trump is behaving, this is getting ridiculous and weird.
No. I don't think Trump would act any differently.
In Trump's mind, he wins when the other guy loses. He always sees winning as a zero-sum, so if even if it costs him everything he has, if he prevails, he's won.
That's not going to change. It has been his mindset all his life. That's why he goes on the attack when he feels he's losing anything from the most important to the most trivial. The more he loses, the more he doubles-down.
Putin may be using that to his own purposes, but if he wasn't in the picture, Trump would still be attacking his best friends as much as his worst enemies. In fact, when an enemy whoops him, he attacks his friends, because he thinks friends are more pliable and more accepting of an attack.
It might work in some personal relationships, but it doesn't when he's in a community of world leaders. They tend to put their personal differences aside for the needs of their country. Such a thought is impossible for Trump to conceive.
If he declared we all have to learn to speak Russian is fan club would buy a software program and start learning to count in Russian. What he is doing to our allies is disgusting.

Trumpists are the very definition of useful idiots, I.e. easily fooled, easily manipulated, easily made to betray their own interests and those around them.
