Exactly!

Personally, I think she was flippin the bird to the press...they are the ones that didn't jump all over this when Obama was doing it, she was saying, I really don't care what you say....she knew the cameras would be on her....and she knows what all this is really about....

I have always appreciated Melania's poise and reserve. Even when her husband was acting atrociously, she was always above the fray. This doesn't make any sense. Why would she do something so crass? And please don't tell me it's just a jacket. She knew what she was doing; otherwise, why own something like that at all?

Oh noes anything but the optics!
Let me put on some tin foil to drum up a conspiracy in the name of social justice.

One of my employees has dread locks. Why would I have problems with dread locks?
Most of them have tattoos too. Why would I have an issue with tattoos?
Physical appearance doesn't dictate skill nor productivity.
Wait a second... don't you guys defend to the death the 1st amendment and freedom of speech/expression? Walking back on that stance now on the basis of optics? LOL

NO one in this thread is saying Melanie doesn't have the RIGHT to wear a message jacket. We're saying it was a tacky choice, giving the place she was going to visit and it stepped on her own purpose in going which was to show that she supposedly cared about how the kids are being treated. If that was her 'BeBest' it fell short of showing true compassion.

Her good lucks and poise fooled us. We thought she was the Better Half of this marriage. Now we have to face the fact that she is no better than her ignorant spouse.

Melania is free to make any speech or statement she cares to make.

We are free to interpret and/or criticize.

Free speech works both ways, or did you forget that?

Looks like the Liar in Chief set this up. He probably told her she needed the good publicity and this would be a good distraction. Something to take away from the crying misplaced children....

I think it was a positive thing going there. It's probably a really good idea that she get a front row view.

Too bad she blew it.
