Not sure if the President has the power to do so and knowing that Democrats obstruct anything that is good for the Country, just to justify the lefts, no policy to run on so just be against everything that the President says or does.

If everify will be mandatory then no illegal should be able to work and employers will be held liable.

We don’t rent to illegals unless their entire credit report is fake, drivers license is fake and/or immigrupapers are fake as we verify if a foreigner is here legally based on income, visa status Etc. We can’t rent to anyone that can’t be here for only three months but responsible for an annual lease.

We already had three separate couples turned down due their papers not justifying any income but they were here legally but no work authorization. All claimed to work but had papers provided that show not allowed for work. None of them had green cards and all claimed to get a green card soon as they applied for one.

As a Legal alien going through the entire process I know that applying and getting a green card approved are two separate things.

I happen to know good legal aliens who got denied a green card but can stay here with visas as USCIS informed them that their work permits don’t require a green card as they travel a lot in and out of the country and they can keep doing that with a visa. Buying a home didn’t help them to get the green card.

The three examples I dealt with all had no proof of any income as all they claimed was paid under the table or coming from very shady “stories” with no proof at all.

While I think mandatory e-Verify with stiff penalties is a great idea, not everyone does.

I read that nearly 800K citizens and legal residents would lose their jobs due to e-verify errors, because e-verify is over 50% inaccurate. Also, driving the illegals into cash-only jobs would cost $17B in lost tax revenue.

Also, it would have to be an annual effort since some people will have their visas expire, so the cost to the employers would be significant.

What's wrong with simply passing it? A large number of politicians say they are for it. It should pass. It's NEVER brought up for a vote. Why do you suppose that is? No politician is willing to cross the interests of business and it makes for great campaign ads.

Sadly people are willing to go along. I do not understand it.

If you did it was on some wack website which is why you didn't post anything to verify this.

Thats like saying "the Jews" are their donors. The top 0.1% are their big donors. But making this into a race and gender thing will keep alienating larger and larger swaths of the population. Wall Street democrats and their media lackeys constantly do it. Prepare for Kamala Harris swimming in big money bribery to go overboard portraying progressives as racists and sexists if they dont support her candidacy for president.

I don't know. Is Cato a wack site?

https://www.cato.org/blog/serious-problems-e-verify

So, lets see. I remembed correctly about the accuracy, but the number of citizens who would lose their jobs is 190K. Other issues which I did not mention is that it would encourage identity theft, and that in order to make it more accurate the government would like start collecting fingerprints etc from everyone. Some states already have mandatory e-verify, and it has not been very successful.

Quote:
An audit of the system by the firm Westat found that an estimated 54 percent of unauthorized workers were incorrectly found to be work authorized by E-Verify because of rampant document fraud.
.
.
Third, some Americans would be kicked out of the labor market due to E-Verify. E-Verify’s accuracy problems mean that Americans are and will continue to be barred from work due to false positives. Roughly 0.15 percent of all E-Verify queries result in a false “final non-confirmation.” While that is an admittedly small percentage, if applied nationwide to an American labor pool of roughly 125 million workers, it would result in 187,500 wrongly issued FNCs to American workers each year.

Ah, the ol' Mitch McConnell vs. Obama strategy.

No, it is not like saying "the Jews" are their donors. Wealthy white men are indeed their donors and they don't want e-Verify.

Right before passing Reagan's amnesty bill, Republicans stripped employer sanctions from the bill and they have opposed employer sanctions ever since.

Employers on this forum have posted that it is an easy procedure, not requiring much time or expertise.

False positives is a problem that other nations have solved. I bet we could as well.

If we are still speaking with Canada, or Australia, perhaps we could find out how they do it.
