Very stupid. Stupid also that it’s a msm story as I doubt many are doing this. Just clickbait. I’m certain that people enjoy being outraged as it is an industry these days.

How are you supposed to explain this to the school or Doctor? My child doesn't have a gender or we are waiting for them to decide. I really dislike this non gender movement.
One of the hardest things about being a teacher is having to passively observe parents visit their issues and hangups and irrational beliefs upon their kids in such ways that it turns their kids into confused oddballs, which makes it much harder for their kids to develop good relationships with their peers. You'll notice that most of these parents never have the guts to do these behaviors themselves. They don't cross-dress or change their names or refer to themselves by silly pronouns. No, they have their 8-year olds do that and they have them do that in the environment that is the most likely on the face of the planet to result in ostracism and derision for being odd and different. And that latter part will never change, regardless how many "zero tolerance" policies we draft and implement.

Hardly. Every semester we have more and more kids announcing that they were born into the wrong body and adults who enable this and indulge in these fantasies. To the point that they give these kids drugs, like puberty blockers, that will in all likelihood sterilize them. We used to have a name for the systematic sterilization of classes of people. Oh, what was it? Help me out here...
I don't think it's a good idea... but it's no worse than parents who raise their children to be vegans or ignorant/hateful christian fundamentalists.
Parents are- and should be- given wide leeway to raise their child as they see fit. So long as they aren't causing demonstrable harm... let parental stupidity ring
