^^ This.

It was amusing when one politician who proposed that welfare and perhaps others getting government handouts be drug tested when that politician himself was doing a quite a bit of drugs himself

Heroin is very cheap...that's why we have an epidemic

Why aren't the voters?

Majority of addicts use about 3-4 grams per day.

Thank you. I don’t know why anybody supports mandatory drug testing, the ultimate infringement on someone’s privacy. Identifying and prosecuting people for drug use has never put a dent in drug abuse. People are going to use drugs, for some it will be a huge problem; for others, not so much. Treatment should be where resources are spent. Approaching drug abuse as a criminal problem achieves nothing other than lining the pockets of privately owned prison corporations, lawyers and those who profit from our dysfunctional prison institutions. Our elected Congress represent the values of the people who vote for them so, next time you complain about your corrupt and amoral Congressman take a good long look in the mirror.

Most politicians are drunks, not druggies. That the real reason prohibition was lifted.

first of all, nowhere near 90% are regular users I am guessing and simply on more than any other job. Why not routinely test teachers? They are the ones who help form our children's minds? I have to say, I doubt you are in the majority on this

Why not test them all for alcohol to see if they show any residue from the night before, or make their physicals public knowledge even including the condition of their livers? We could go on and on. If there is reason to believe a congress person is using drugs or even too much alcohol, vote him out.
