Yeah--that was jacked up. I mean--who wouldn't know Ving Rhames?
Not to hijack your thread (cops do seem to misbehave so often come to think of it ) but he was wearing basketball shorts and opened the door to the residence after they knocked.
Again, not many burglars go in and strip down to just b-ball shorts then open the door to invite people inside.
Back to your story though...here we have the wife describing to the cops what the perp looked like (naked) and what her husband was wearing (uh...clothes) so it stands to reason that naked = bad guy while clothes = good guy.
Trust and verify, sure, but let's try to use a little logic here.
If a construction worker, oil field worker, truck driver, etc. was negligent enough to kill someone, do you really think they'd be put on paid leave? Of course not--they'd be fired immediately.
Sure thing... I just stated a counter point to your point. You slandered the police union with absolutely no facts backing it up. Knee jerk reaction is what caused this home owner to lose his life needlessly.
You also had a knee jerk reaction to the way the investigation is being handled.
Just let it unfold properly and not form an ad hoc vigilante group.

This one does not appear to be of the sort where investigation is needed to determine fault or such. It appears on its face crystal clear. The officer shot the wrong guy without reason.
I would think he would be charged. Given he is a police officer perhaps released on his own recognizance.
But stripped of badge, gun and employment.

When cops take the oath to serve the public, they are assuming that they will be at risk and that the lives of those who they serve, come first. If they are not willing to take that risk, they should not be pulling police duty.
The fact that the wife of the resident who was killed, described his clothing and also said that the intruder was naked, should have been heeded by the police. The trigger-happy cop who killed him, showed no ability to use judgement and to consider that critical information. That cop should never be allowed to carry a gun again. Unless someone is pointing a gun at the police, they should order someone who is holding one, to drop it, before shooting them down. Better for a cop to be shot, than for an innocent resident to be killed, by an unstable gunslinger in a uniform.
The guy should’ve done what he was told. If you comply, you don’t have to worry about getting shot.
Bullcrap
