Trump may not be enough to swing Latino turnout Democrats' way

Democrats have hit an unexpected speed bump in their drive to regain control of Congress: unsettling signs that the party may not generate as much turnout or support among Latino voters this fall as it expected.

...
While cautioning that there is still time to reverse the trend, they point to signs of wavering Hispanic support and engagement in House districts in Texas, Nevada, Florida and California, and in Senate races in Texas, Nevada, Florida and Arizona.

"I still think it's a little too soon to push the panic button, but having said that, we are not seeing the types of numbers with Hispanic voters that we should be seeing with the most hostile person to ever hold public office against Hispanics as the President," said Fernand Amandi, principal at Bendixen & Amandi International, a Democratic polling firm that specializes in studying Latino voters. "And that in and of itself is a concern. I'm flabbergasted."

Maybe Latinos are too busy working and being productive to pay attention to the Democrats.
CNN said Trump would get 12-15% Hispanic vote and he got 29%....so whatever they say now, double it.

Antifa types who go around harassing people and destroying property and using sidewalks as a bathroom.

Several of them turn out to be college profs who work very few hours and therefore have a lot of free time on their hands. The antifa bike lock smashed into others' skulls attacker? Eric Clanton, a college prof. The antifa idiot who admitted on Facebook that he with his semi-auto rifle chased Fields (who was therefore fleeing for his life) down 4th Street in Charlottesville into a crowd of pedestrians, after having been filmed previously standing on a car with that same rifle and deliberately instructing the pedestrian protestors to "get ready to get hit?" UNC faculty member Dwayne Dixon.

Latino culture likes strong men. Trump is a strong leader. I was surprised at how many Latinos were at one Trump gathering I attended during the campaign. I live in a state Hillary won.

It is not happening and it is not going to happen, and it is definitely not going to happen for Hispanics.
I had repped the top post for bringing this up.

There is a reason for this discrepancy as to why blacks are mostly monolithic in voting, and Hispanics are not.

It stems from how and why each group got to America.

Blacks were mainly forced to come here. Latinos were not.

Many blacks still have the mindset of slavery over their head... not that we act like slaves, but that it's still part of our psyche. Latinos don't have that. They chose to come here.

The dynamic between black and white people is constantly being highlighted and referenced back to slavery - much of it for political purposes. Latinos don't have that dynamic. Some are trying to stoke the flames, but there's no real history behind it.

In other words, our history of slavery (and how it is used for leverage by Democrats) is a large reason I believe we vote 90% Democrat. Obama had the opportunity to hard wire that vote in for decades, but he did virtually nothing for black people. He has in fact, made it easy for Trump to come in and make inroads to the black vote.

Latinos come here looking to work and prosper and reside safely in a community without worrying about the Zetas. They don't have the history of mistreatment and the struggle for rights that we did. The Democrats are trying to make it seem that they are in a struggle like black folks - but there is absolutely no comparison. Therefore, the message doesn't stick.
