Liberals continues to believe the election of Obama made a difference for minorities. Obama's 8 years of presidency made no significant difference or change in the lives of people of color, particularly African Americans, despite his campaign of change and hope.
Why? Well the the left is still whining about how unfair capitalism is, how they hate the free market, the massive oppression, racism, discrimination, and inequality in America that for some strange reason hasn't led to a mass emigration of Americans into Canada yet.
So lets looks look at the facts to bust this myth:
Fact #1 Chicago and the inner cities of America are still war zones
Quote:
CHICAGO – At least 72 people were shot, including 12 fatally, over the weekend in Chicago, another eruption of violence in a city that has struggled with murders and shootings in recent years
African Americans are the only racial group the Census Bureau identifies that has been left behind. White, Asian and Latino households have all seen at least modest income gains since 2000.
African Americans are the only U.S. racial group earning less than in 2000
So as you can see, 8 years of a Obama as president did nothing to benefit the black community. With that being said, it would be safe to assume that kneeling for the national anthem or protesting a rare police shooting won't change anything either.
Change comes from within and my black community will never change so long as we keep shooting each other, having kids out of wedlock, engaging in unhealthy lifestyles, and depending on politicians like Obama to "save us." No amount of blaming "outside forces" will fix self-inflicted issues either. Change must come from within and only from within. 8 years didn't change 1 single thing.

I doubt that any black person actually considers Barack a black person. Sure he has a black genetic father. But his father abandoned the family early on and Barack was raised by a white family in a white neighborhood and went to white schools. He had no clue what it was like to be black. They claim his black skin helped him to associate with the plight of black people, but his black skin actually enabled him to reap the benefits of being the “black token”.
I don't get what the president -- any president -- can realy do about the things listed, especially out of wedlock birth rates and obesity. But I get it. The right still thikns they have to tear Obama down to please the current president and make him look good.

His father was African, it doesn't get any blacker than that. He's married to a black woman, his daughters are black, he attended black churches, and he's a democrat. He's considered black by every black person.
It's the Ben Carsons, Colin Powells, Clarence Thomas', and Condi Rices that black people don't consider black.

Then why did liberals make such a big deal about his election? You have come to realize that change in the black community comes from within, and not from a politician or political party or national anthem kneeling. Good for you.
As far as Obama's role, he could've inspired the black community to change. But as you can see, it never happened. So much for hope and change.

Did Obama not campaign on "change?" What changed in the black community? He did have 8 years.
The statistics and current state of the black community speaks for itself. Obama is a millionaire with daughters in Harvard, southside Chicago is a war zone, change you can believe in I guess.
It made a huge difference. My grandmother, who was born in 1922, saw something that she never could’ve imagined would happen in her lifetime.
And for black children like my son who still were young at the time, they can believe that a black person can reach the highest heights if they work and study hard, and keep a clean nose.
Thank you Barack Obama for everything you did. As far as your black detractors are concerned, they can go kick rocks.

The black unemployment rate went from 17% to 7% during Obama`s term and the president doesn`t have the power to give people a raise in wages. The gun violence was far worse during the Reagan years when the yearly average was 722 gun deaths but I don`t think it was Reagan`s or Obama`s idea to let everyone who wants a gun have a gun. What would happen if Obama had created special programs to help blacks only? A lot of white people lost their minds just seeing a black man in the Whitehouse. However I do agree with you that there is something really effed up within that culture. Solution???
