If you’re ok with Trump using his power this way, I assume you will also be ok if another, liberal occupant of the White House starts revoking security clearances belonging to Republicans and conservatives.

Next time someone tries a coup, whoever the President may be, the President is absolutely entitled to take mild counter-measures like this.
I know Trump is being a **** about this and punishing/humiliating his critics with revoking their clearance. On the other hand what is the big deal that it is revoked if they are no longer employed or holding the position that requires it ? They need not be silenced, they can continue to express their opinions if they choose to. Those who still have their clearance may feel silenced but they still risk losing their job if they criticize him.
As for history and all this information/wisdom Brennan has that will be lost etc, c'mon. Intelligence gathering is so big and so cutting edge what he knows will be so old very quickly.
I think it is big drama over nothing. Who cares if Patraeus lost his clearance? or Susan Rice?
Because when there is a crisis some departments call back people with past knowledge of situation and can have input on how to best resolve it, they need the clearance to be briefed on sensitive plans, that's why.
That may be of some value yes, but how often does it happen and how much value does it add? And what organizations depend so much on past CEO's to be on call for all times?
I can see how valuable the security clearance will be for people like Brennan who can have some lucrative consulting practices in corporate with that, but how does that serve the nation?

Have any specific examples of people actually gaining more lucrative positions because they'd maintained their clearances or just slinging a little mud?
Its chilling watching so many trying to cast this remorseless creature as a sympathetic character. Brennan having his security clearance revoked is the equivalent of suffering a mosquito bite. What would be a more fitting fate would be to drop him off in a small villiage within Pakistan with his govt ID badge slung around his neck and let nature take its course.
It's revisionist history at its worst. The Team Blue and Team Red idiots are so determined to insult one another that they completely dismiss the fact that this guy literally created the drone murder program.
