Wasn't it his CIA that told us there were weapons of mass destruction in Iraq?

And then Obama was stupid enough to re-appoint him.

Doesn't sound qualified to me. (unless maybe you want to do some spying on Americans)

If you don’t have the jobs, you don’t have the clearance.

I’m with Tucker Carlson on this one. What right does Brennan have to a top secret security clearance if his job is no longer in government and while working as an MSNBC contributor?

He’s out of the loop now anyway since there is no way Trump is going to ask for his insight. There are plenty of others to consult, and I don’t really think Brennan was that great at insight when he was working. He lied about WMDs in Iraq. He lied about spying on senate staff members. He has no business having a security clearance now.

Obama should fire John Brennan

Quote:
In March, at the Council on Foreign Relations, CIA Director John Brennan was asked by NBC’s Andrea Mitchell whether the CIA had illegally accessed Senate Intelligence Committee staff computers “to thwart an investigation by the committee into” the agency’s past interrogation techniques. The accusation had been made earlier that day by Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.), who said the CIA had “violated the separation-of-powers principles embodied in the United States Constitution.” Brennan answered:

As far as the allegations of, you know, CIA hacking into, you know, Senate computers, nothing could be further from the truth. I mean, we wouldn’t do that. I mean, that’s — that’s just beyond the — you know, the scope of reason in terms of what we would do. {…}

And, you know, when the facts come out on this, I think a lot of people who are claiming that there has been this tremendous sort of spying and monitoring and hacking will be proved wrong.

(You can see the video of Brennan’s answer here.)

Now we know that the truth was far different. The Post’s Greg Miller reports:

“Our” intelligence agencies? The same ones who lied about the Gulf of Tonkin and cost 58,000 American lives? The same ones who lied about Iraq WMDs and sent over 5,000 Americans to their deaths?

“Our” secrets? The same ones that Edward Snowden exposed back in 2013, which showed that the NSA is intercepting and eavesdropping on our private communications?
Yes, the same ones you claim lied.

There are many of them, and they all didn't lie.

And over 120 years, they all didn't lie at the same time, either. And you will never know which ones lied and which told the truth.

Suspect them all you want, but they are the only spies and counter-spies we have, and they are our only barrier to espionage from without and from within. Some are imperfect, but they are not all imperfect. That's the way it's always been in the spy business.

Educate yourself! No one has a right to a security clearance, especially when they prove they do not meet the standard to hold one. "Puts our nation at risk..." pffttt People coming freely across our border puts our country at risk. Revoking a loose cannon's security clearance does not.

Nicely and simply stated. Good Post!

Yemen? You must be the unnecessary war of choice started by Obama where 1000s have been killed as a result.

You might want to check that double standard.
