The cop should have just walked/driven past. Only a psycho would hassle her for that.
Correct.

The part in bold is where I have to disagree with you. I think it may also be relevant to the poll, because I wonder if some of the folks who said the officer's action was justified might have felt differently if her name was Jones or Smith.

Nevertheless, kudos to you for choosing the right side in this, in spite of your disapproval of her presence here.

The police are universally quite stupid.

The UK police even tasered a blind man after they thought his white cane was a samurai sword, an easy mistake to make.

Whilst another case they thought a blind man's cane was a gun and tasered him.

I am just glad most police in the UK don't carry firearms.

As for the 87 year old woman, I am just pleased she didn't die due to police stupidity.

What are you talking about? That poster did not support tasering the woman.

Not really. Plenty of examples of english speaking folks minding their own business who end up getting tazed, maced, shot, etc. by cops who cant discern a real threat from a ham sandwich.

Those fools don’t listen. Then they end up flopping around like a fish out of water.

Doesn’t matter either way.

Actually, the problem of police who see an 87-year-old lady collecting flowers as a threat would remain.

A more appropriate headline would be "Armed Female is Tasered by Police after Refusing Several Verbal and Visual Demands to Drop her Knife."

She would have learned a few English words in 20 years, including "drop" and "knife". The cop repeatedly mimicked his command by tossing his own knife on the ground, yet she still didn't understand? I'm not buying any of it.

She might even have learned the words "Dandelion salad" to explain her knife and actions to the police. The cops didn't know what she was doing with that knife.. and she couldn't tell them... and she refused to drop it. ZAPPPP! The cops had no choice. Tackling her would have broken bones at her age.

This is a BS fable created by and fed to the anti-police crowd.
