I'm convinced some of these corporations due this kind of nonsense just for the free publicity. Lily Diabetes, anyone heard of them before this incident? I never have.
I haven't heard of them, the driver or his father. And I was actually a pretty big NASCAR fan in the 80s.

It's part of Eli Lilly, a Fortune 500 pharmaceutical company. And it seems significant that they are headquartered in Indianapolis, and this driver has made his reputation as an Indy car driver.
I's ridiculous - - but this is on corporations. Your half needs to wield political power to get what you want.
So I assume you'll be supporting my half (whatever you mean by that) since you want to see a world where corporations don't think it is in their interests to do things like this that are ridiculous?

With corporations, it has nothing to do with PC and everything to do with $$$. IF they thought non-PC would increase their business they'd be there in a NY minute. Considering NASCAR's falling ratings I don't doubt sponsors would seek any reason to back out of deals.

well, usually big corporations do not want to risk offending ANYONE, even the known racist, after all they want everyone buying their products or using their services, they dont give a hoot about PC'ness, they care about $$$
I once worked a pizza chain, one year a porn video shop was opening in the same strip mall, the corporate office told us to say 'NO COMMENT' if the media was to ask us about this, since it was a big deal in the area when this happened, the top brass told us, "they want the opponents of the porn shop AND the people buying the porn, to buy pizza from us, we dont want to risk driving either group away".
"I do not deny that I used the 'n-word,' but I think it's really important to understand the context of how it was used," Daly said. "I was new to America - this is the early '80s - 1983, I believe, maybe ‘84, but I think it was ‘83. I'm being interviewed by Larry Henry at WIBC, talking about the big changes in my career, in my life. I said I'm now racing in America. I'm with an American team, an American sponsor, an American crew. I said the only 'n' in the woodpile is me. That was a very commonly used phrase in Ireland - saying 'I will be the scapegoat. I will be the one responsible if this doesn't go well.' And it's such a commonly used word - I used it and moved on."
I sang eeenie-meemie-miney-moe as a kid, so now I and my descendants are outcasts for life.
