I am conflicted about what should occur if she refuses to testify on Monday.

On the one hand I see the committee has given a chance for her to be heard.

On the other hand no woman lodging a complaint like this, which is indeed criminal in nature, would have to testify before a judge without the prosecution investigation.

So what exactly would an investigation look like? I know it is academic since Trump has already ruled upon high that he wouldn't allow one to occur.

The Democrats have planned this the entire time. The Republicans should confirm him and not have a second thought.

Woman who went to same school as Ford--but couple of years ahead--and knew Kavanaugh and Judge (said Judge was her prom date who got drunk and stood her up prom night) wrote letter for her Facebook page and posted it
Was reposted on Twitter by someone else--a guy--

She said the incident was known when she was in school--
So I imagine other people beside Ford spoke about it at the time
I am sure people saw them go into the room and come out
I imagine Kavanaugh and Judge (as boys seem to do) bragged about what they did
These events in today's world go out on Twitter and Instagram and other media
Why are we surprised that people at that party knew what happened and told others???

Just because Ford was too embarassed to speak of it doesn't mean anyone else was...

In U.S. jurisprudence, the accused have the right to face their accuser. If this woman, Ms. Ford, refuses to do that it is even more proof she is a fraud.

Here is a guy who has spent a good part of his life seeing that justice is served, and people are not being unjustly accused, but all parties in a case are given a fair hearing. What a sad commentary on American jurisprudence that we have found ourselves in a place where such a man isn't afforded the same kind of justice. She should be forced to face Judge Kavanaugh without delay. It shouldn't be on her terms.

I think she probably delights in what she is doing to his family. She has a grudge. There is no doubt on that score.

There will be no investigation.

IF there were - it would be an extension of the original background investigation. Not a criminal investigation. FBI could question both the Judge and the Professor; the male who was also present . . . and so on and so forth.

The Republicans want a replay of the Anita Hill spectacle; hence no additional investigation.

I don't blame Ford for wanting other people present. Anyone that's ever watched one minute of Anita's Hill's public hanging would want other people present.

That said, if she refuses to testify, even during a closed door session OR propose a different date ~ I'm not sure what we expect the Republicans to do.

Hold a vote and let the Republicans vote the Frat Boy in. Honestly, that was my very first impression of him. Entitled Frat Boy. I haven't changed my mind.

Whomever steps forward now had better be ready for the deep dive that's going to be done on THIER character, background and possible motives just like is being done to all those who support Kavanaugh.

Remember, she's alleging a FELONY or two happened, at least one of which could've put Kavanaugh on the Sex Offender Registry.

This is a serious thing to accuse someone of charged, convicted or not, it NEVER goes away once you spew it.
You'd better be damn well ready to back it up before destroying someone like that.

This is not a court of law. This is a job interview.

Do we want a drunken Frat Boy on the highest court of the land for his lifetime?

Republicans say - YES.
