For a total of $703,083.00, how much does security cost ?
The target was $150,000; added contributions (politically motivated no doubt) have come in but, yes, the Fund is still active.
I know little of Christine Ford etc. but does anyone seriously think she decided to write a letter last summer in the hopes that she could later make money off gofundme? Usually people make false allegations for public exposure (advance a career etc.) or because they are mentally unbalanced. I don't think she's a Democratic operative. And then Feinstein etc. played along with a fake leak of some sort?
C'mon really. If we are forced to choose (as apparently we are) what is the most likely scenario in any kind of real world. Some sort of elaborate plot (on Ford's part I mean, for I've no doubt the Democrats are pulling every stunt they can) OR that Kavanaugh really was a boy creep?
The latter I know happens all the time. The former scenario?
Plus, Ford came across to me as a seriously frightened woman while Kavanaugh struck me as an entitled bully.
Our impressions (best guesses) ... that's all we've got here.
Yea, but who is going to determine the scope limitations?
We cannot have this turn into another Carte Blanche Mueller Investigation were they go hunting for a crime and not stick to investigating the allegations!
The FBI can handle their investigation however they want. The Senate can handle their confirmation process however they want. Come next week, the Senate can say we are about to vote, what have you got?
No they are asking the FBI to stall things another week so the left can dig up more accusations against Kavanaugh.
well of course...and then demand they be investigated too
hypocrisy is when you say the FBI did 6 background checks and didn't find this....which means the FBI background checks are worthless....and then demand they do another one
..and then expect the FBI to admit they found something....and have the FBI admit their background checks are worthless
I don't think it's logical to think that it'll play out that way. Given the division that all of this has caused, it's possible for anyone who knows him to now make up a claim to stall this nomination.
And what if the FBI continues to receive "anonymous" accusations leading up the to 12th hour again? Do they just ignore it? If they do ignore it, how will the Senate feel about the new set of allegations? It'll give the Democrats an endless list of " but what abouts" to fillibuster the nomination.
Allegations can come up now that RGB is a drunk and sleeps it off in her chambers and is unfit to serve.
Should be easy since they've already done the background investigation on Kavanaugh SIX flipping times. The first of which covered this time period.
It should be easy, since the accusers cannot provide even the most basic information about when and where these events happened, and the so-called corroborating witnesses have already supplied sworn statements under penalty of perjury. What more is it that the FBI is reasonably going to do here? Nothing, that is what.
The FBI can evaluate the current documents for thoroughness and show Flake that what they have meets and probably even exceeds FBI requirements for an "investigation" of these sorts of allegations under their standards.
They might be able to finish this by this afternoon actually, if they were to get right on it.
