Does Hollywood have the ability to tell a story the way it happened without an agenda these days? I guess we will find out soon with this Ryan Gosling starred production.

Word is, they decided to not do a planting of the American flag scene because the movie producers have decided it was a human achievement more than an American one....even though it was our science and our money and our astronauts LOL.

So maybe that answers the question already. I can hardly wait to see the diverse mission control they will portray...or will they just cut those scenes out because it was 99% white males who ran this show.

Oh wait... did we go to the moon? I thought that event got erased by the History Nazis. Wasn't it supposed to be racist or insensitive or American colonialism or something?

If you watch the movie "the Right Stuff", my favorite line was when one of the U.S. bureaucrats states "our Germans are better than their Germans. Too funny, but also true. However, it was an American achievement because the U.S. taxpayers funded it, and U.S. contractors built everything, not to mention who flew the damn things.

not to mention the context.

it was us against them. it was America against the Soviets.

planting that flag at that time was as HUGE part of the story.

if this is true, I will not watch it.

There were 3 AA women involved in Hidden Figures-out of some 400,000 people involved in the mission...

The primary reason for the space program, and particularly the urgency of it, was to accomplish it before the Soviets did. This was a victory for the American people-those that designed it, built it, flew it and paid for it. You can't tell the "story" without including that bit of history. I agree-if they chose to rewrite history I'll pass. It'll be on Netflix soon enough anyway.

The movie centered around three women. Do you honestly think those were the only three?
