I know government participation in the ownership market would inhibit that, but it sure would be a race to see who can get their way first.
Which evil idea of socialism do you like?

Corporations are just groups of people organized to conduct business. What's the difference between a corporation and a government entity?

Greed is the only meaningful force driving the advancement of humans. Name one exception please. Everything you use, except for air, is afforded to you by the greedy capitalists and corporations.

There is nothing stopping workers from running their own company.

...let me know how it turns out.

From the article...

The problem with capitalism is not just that a system fueled by a wealthy, profit-hungry elite is inherently unstable, or that it leaves whole layers of society starving in the streets. It is that it relies on the dictatorship of the rich.

1. Right, it's unstable because 70% of the rich people lose their wealth by the 3rd generation, 90% by the 4th.

2. The only system that is capable of producing famine in peacetime is? You guessed it, socialism. This has been proven true again, again, and again. Think USSR, China, NK, and nowadays, Zimbabwe, Venezuela.

3. The system that relies on the dictatorship of the rich is? You guessed it, socialism. Again, think USSR, China, NK, and nowadays, Zimbabwe, Venezuela. The elites sit on top and tell people what to do and how to think.

Last sentence of the article...

Socialists believe that without democratic control of capital and an end to imperialism, the goals of progressivism will be left unfulfilled. Socialists argue that capitalism is incompatible with democracy. To those who disagree, we pose a simple question: which will be wiped out sooner—the market capitalization of ExxonMobil, or the city of Miami?

This is a big load of manure.

This is a false scenario that makes it appear as though these are our only choices.

What socialists don't understand, or don't want to admit is that ExxonMobil funds the city of Miami - through taxes. So if ExxonMobil fails... how does Miami operate?

The only way Miami survives is if Miami swallows the operation and function of ExxonMobil. And now instead of two separate entities that work together - you now have one centralized control center. I don't want that. It's a monopoly. People will have less power and control over their own lives.

The truth is that if ExxonMobil fails - under our current system, someone else will create a better product that serves people, and will take the place of ExxonMobil. It is not an either...or scenario as is painted by the article. That's the big lie.

One more - I have to address this because it was funny...

Americans also face unique budgetary concerns: Europe has been able to forgo massive spending on defense and national security largely because of the role the U.S. military plays in our global alliances. The United States has no such guaranteed backstop. Meaningfully cutting defense spending will make not just our country, but the world, less secure.

Really??

Is this really a complaint?

Think about it... our current economic system has been so successful that we are defending these other nations... other nations who some want to emulate here, even though they are NOT fully spending money on their own defense systems.

Maybe those economic systems would not be as great if they had to spend their own resources to fully defend themselves on their own without our help.

Again - we want to give up our economic system which provides the resources to protect other countries... and we want to copy the policies of others who do not fully put up the costs to protect themselves. Their bottom line looks better because they are using our resources and spending less of their own for defensive purposes.

Laughable...

I am still waiting for the socialists to provide me one example of socialist policy that is moral, just and fair, and doesn't require slaughtering or threaten to slaughtering people.

Why do people keep trying g to get a failed system put in place?

History is replete with how socialism inevitably fails.
