There is no way any media outlet could get away with faking this letter. The truth would eventually come out and that would basically be the end of that media outlet.
It's the NY Times and anonymous sources. That alone means this is already discredited in the minds of Trump supporters.
But *only* in the minds of Trump supporters.
Thinking people see the credibility that comes from hearing similar stories coming out from multiple sources, and from what we observe Trump himself saying and doing.
At the very least, this article is going to make Trump even more paranoid and crazy. He won't trust anyone and will be lashing out at everyone. Before it's over the only people he'll trust will be his relatives. And he would be a fool to trust Melania--she'll gut him at the first opportunity.
