They didn't know each other.
We have no way of knowing that. They were neighbors, they may have had prior contact that no one knows about.

That's what makes it unlikely and fanciful.

b) How did she unlock the door, assuming it was locked ?

c) Didn't the place look different to her, furniture, etc?

d) She is a trained professional, and should have been able to draw her weapon, get him to stop, and then take control of the situation...……...without starting to shoot her weapon.

There is a whole lot more to this story that has not come out yet.

Can you IMAGINE being that guy? You wake up and someone is in your apartment. You are terrified, gripped with fear. But time is moving quick because that person shoots you before you can say Go!

What are the odds though, that they had a lovers quarrel, she brought out the gun and killed him. Now she has to come up with a plausible story why she shot him in his own apartment?

Probably not as there'd most likely be an electronic trail, phone calls, texts etc.

Yes, you would see the red carpet. I still don't understand how you don't know you're on the wrong floor if you're sober.
And feel the carpet as well. Most people would even notice a difference in size as they felt a strange carpet at a different point from the door.

They didn't take her phone, they only took Jean's.

That's right, I believe the floor is just concrete. Certainly you would feel the difference.

In the end she will probably get away with killing this guy. The system favors the cops, as they usually walk away with nothing done. All she have to do is figure how to put she feared for her life in proper context.

People need to be extra vigilant about locking their doors to keep them safe from idiot police officers.

And here you have a young black man, who appears to be doing all the right things, a professional clean cut looking guy, minding his own business in his own place, not breaking any laws, and still gun down by a cop. What a sad tragic story and I really feel bad for this young man family. I hope they find peace and justice for the loss of this young life.
