Obama is like the Clintons.....they just can't go away......they like power and the spotlight and themselves too much.
And you honestly believe Trump will ever go away once he is out of office, he will always have something to say. And that won't ever be a problem for his supporters.
Like Hillary, nor will Obama go away. Obama did well for himself but was a disaster for Democrats who lost over 1000 seats plus the presidency during his tenure and now he's at it again. Is he so hard headed that he can't understand those losses reflect on him, ... that we didn't like his policies.
"There is nothing more pathetic in life than a former president," President John Quincy Adams once said. That, like all other aspects of the American presidency, has evolved and changed, all due to the decisions made by the people who've held the office.
Yeah? And most CURRENT presidents make a concerted effort not to constantly criticize (and in Trump's case, demonize) their predecessor.
Trump has tweeted insults and lies about Obama HOW MANY TIMES?
Obama has been remarkably restrained in light of Trump's coarse rudeness.
And Obama is the most expensive ex-president in history. Costing taxpayers $1,153,000 next year, according to a new Congressional Research Service memo looking at the official allowances for the five living former chief executives.
His $1,153,000 budget request for 2018 is more than $100,000 higher than George W. Bush’s request for next year and nearly $200,000 more than Bill Clinton’s expected budget. George H.W. Bush is slated to get $942,000, while Jimmy Carter will get less than half that, at just $456,000.
Every former president gets an office, expenses and, in some cases, an annual pension payment, thanks to a 1950s-era law enacted after former President Harry S. Truman struggled for income when he left the White House in 1953.
While most ex-presidents since Truman have found ways to make their life beyond the Oval Office financially rewarding, the taxpayer-funded perks have remained — and Mr. Obama is the latest to take them.
What a gig!
No one, and I mean NO ONE, deserves a pension more than President Obama. He threw our country a lifeline and ran it admirably, in spite of every attempt to obstruct him by Republicans, after the disaster that was George W. Bush.
why should they? You guys have about half your ex Representatives and senators party on FOX everyday?
why should liberals "go away" just to make you more comfortable? Or is it that only Libs should conform to y norms, while Trump can hide his tax returns, get patents for his kids, payoff strippers etc and all that is fine with you lot. Meanwhile Obama does a talk for his own party and you guys get triggered.
It don't take much to get them triggered. The op ed article and now Obama making a speech.
For once, you are right, it could not come at a better time. I mean he did such a great job for hillary. You remember, right, if hillary loses, his agenda goes down the drain....
Obama never espoused his opposition as the enemy of the people, nor did he label the news media the enemy of the people nor did he disrespect institutions like the FBI/CIA/NSA/DOJ , with Obama it was always about trying to find ways to work together for the common good of the country, trump is the opposite and actively conspires to spread hate fear and delusion across the country.
You are wrong. He attempted to oust FOX from the press pool, plus he weaponized the IRS, FBI, etc., against ordinary citizens. As we all are finding out, he also is the instigator behind placing a spy in the Trump campaign, and played a role in the fake dossier financed by the Hillary campaign.
He looked Americans in the eye and lied through his teeth about Obamacare, remember?
I agree that his reemergence into the political scene will energize conservatives to vote in November. Thanks Obama!
