Tomorrow is the 17th Anniversary of 911, and yet, the news stations are not covering it like they always do and I'm wondering why?

This isn't right, every year we cover it and still pray for the families who lost loved ones, this shouldn't be swept under the rug.

I've been under the weather of late, so I haven't been watching as much news...but I don't see the specials they usually run during this time?

If I'm wrong, then I'll gladly own my mistake.....but if not, why would they do this?

What’s being swept under the rug? Does there need to be parades every year? What exactly would satisfy you?

I just heard a story about it on NPR this morning. They were talking about the memorial for the people on flight 93. BTW it happened in 2001 so it is 17 years.

It's the 17th anniversary actually. I'm not a big fan of reliving the events every year, but your mileage may vary.

Keeping up the same intensity of acknowledgement cannot go on forever. It just can't be sustained. It happens with everything.

No one who was alive at that time will forget. Several times over the weekend and today, I kept thinking "It's almost Sept. 11th, what a horrible day that was..." But I don't think we should wallow in it.

There will be the appropriate memorial services at the right places tomorrow. How long do you thing we should continue with the 24/7 newsfeed each 9/11? I, for one, don't want to see it again.

In my opinion it's because just for a minute (figurative speaking) the event coalesced the American people into 1 group. For a short time we forgot our differences and rallied together as a Nation. That doesn't sell in the world today! No way do the Powers that Be want the general population to be in agreement on anything. 911 should hold as big a place in our common physke as Pear Harbor does but they won't let that happen.

I don't need to be reminded of it every year, I'm reminded of it every day already.

9/11 has a bigger place in my mind than Pearl Harbor. Why? Because I was not alive during Pearl Harbor. To me, it was just another historical war event. 9/11 was real to me, especially since I got locked down in my office building and then had to drive home past the burning Pentagon.

I can see doing it on significant anniversaries like the 10th, 15th, or 20th, but not every year.

In the last week I've seen a number of articles popping up, mention of 9/11. I'm sure it will be talked about on various media outlets tomorrow.

Not sure what folks are looking for -- prime time tv special? Covering the services during the day? There's school and work for most.

I'm sure it will be touched upon by tv outlets tomorrow during the day. Not sure about any prime tv shows to cover it.
