No pro-gun people think that you shouldn't punish everyone for the misdeeds of a few. I didn't break any laws why should I give up freedoms because someone else did?
I am pro gun, and I have never once said, much less "always thought" that things would turn out better with more guns.
I simply recognize that I have a natural right to life and property, from which extends the natural right to defend that life and property, from which extends the natural to procure those tools/skills to exercise that right, from which extends the natural to keep and and bear arms. Never made any judgment on that natural right producing better/worse societal outcomes because my natural rights are a condition of MY existence, not society's.
I think MY outcomes are better if I have firearms and ammunition, at least the "can we make Volobjectitarian a victim today?" outcomes.
A rigid mindset that deals only in extreme ends of a political issue and thinks all pro gun advocates, however that diverse group is defined, all think alike, will never, ever generate the imagination and creativity to solve any problem.
No, I didn't say that. I'm not talking about a norm. I'm talking about what pro-gun people imagine.
As it happens, speaking of "one" story, there was a great instance, a while back, of a armed man walking into a bar, with the intention of a major shooting, who was tackled by a woman bartender.

This is a crazy example, and has nothing to do with hypocrisy. No sane person would compare an ordinary citizen to an international superstar.
