The men who have been named in these scandals represent a very broad range of backgrounds: Republican and Democrat; Christian, Jewish, and Muslim; gay and straight. You would think that with such a wide spectrum of abusers, we would finally understand and treat sexual harassment and violence as the systemic problems they are.

The Me Too Movement is an uprising of women against sexual assault. It is not an uprising against men. It is not an uprising against conservatives. AND what it has revealed is its epidemic frequency in our society and all the ways in which it is enabled by a culture of silence.

It is not a partisan issue.

I wonder why you choose to misrepresent this? What is your agenda?

Your #metoo movement has be hijacked by the communist democrats who see it as an opportunity and a tool to be used against conservative SCOTUS nominees.

Your fight is with them not those of us who are watching them do it. Focus on their agenda. Its a rich environment of lies and hypocrisy.

What do you expect from a movement founded by a child rapist who had her husband pay her victim until he killed himself?

Well said!!

Just thought of a Muslim man. Keith Ellison. Why is he getting a pass? Because he is liberal or black? Or because the leaders of the metoo are afraid of muslim retribution?
Tarik Ramadan, for one. He's in french prison awaiting for his trial.Teacher (and preacher on the side) in many universities, terrorist apologetic (subtly so that he can sway his way around the law) after multiple rape claims (substanted enough the guy is in jail, no in surveiled liverty)

Yeah they turned to the dark side pretty fast didn't they? They may blow themselves up due to lack of leadership and logic.

The harrowing violations that have been described range from harassment to rape, and took place as far back as the 1970s or as recently as a few months ago, but these crimes all have in common the fact that they went unpunished. When the women reported the assaults, they were often told to stay quiet lest they hurt their careers or reputations or face more physical abuse And so they maintained their silence. Until now.

If we allow sexual misconduct to become a partisan issue, we risk confounding and obscuring these causes and leaving the problem to fester for the next generation.

This thread and some of the posts reveal ignorance and a cowardice to be a part of a movement toward a solution. It appears many would rather perpetuate the obfuscation of a real societal problem.

WHY?
Well said. The attitude by some has existed since the earliest women's movement, resisting and not facing realities of, taking personal insult with and resenting females. It's not taught to some to feel any other way, so it continues.

Roflmao! Pat Meehan? Trent Franks? Blake Farenthold?

Oh please, look at your bias right there. The cons rvwtives didn’t do it but the liberals were guilty? The conservatives were just as guilty as Eric Schneiderman, John Conyers, Ruben Kinuen, etc.

The difference is we, those monstrous feminists who have you so scared, know that men who harass or abuse are not divided by political lines.

This^^ (I am a woman)
Nazi Feminists like Rep Maxie Hirono who state publicly that men in America need to just shut up are indicative of what the democrat party has become — angry, hate and fear-mongering anarchists willing to bring our country down to the lowest levels possible in civility, law and order, and common sense......
