But he hasn’t accomplished anything, unless massive deficits and tax cuts for rich are considered accomplishments.

What the world missed while it was busy laughing at Donald Trump
"EVERYONE was too busy laughing at Donald Trump’s United Nations speech to pick up on something more important."

Yes, and a part of me agrees with him, until I think about the possibility of the effect it might have on the u.s. economy. However, one thing is for certain, we have spread ourselves so thin, could be Trump is right on the money ... as the article says pretty much ... the vote is still out on that one. It is a wait and see.

But still focusing on the laughter is taking away from the important issues, but then America did elect a clown, again ... apparently we haven't a clue as to what makes a great leader, or so it seems.

He's an arrogant bunghole, but on a rare occasion he behaves charmingly, as he did once they started laughing.
That's how the whole scene came across to me too.
When Trump said that "my administration has accomplished more than almost any administration in the history of our country," people were laughing ironically, as in "yes indeed; your administration managed to alienate the traditional allies in Europe, to aggravate situation in Syria, to start tariff wars with China, to bring mass protests in America..." - so sure enough, this administration managed to accomplish "more than almost any administration in the history of America."
Trump switched to his charming side ( which he has indeed,) and played along. At that point people were already laughing WITH him, not at him.
Trump DOES have his charming side of course and he is no fool;

Now how much he is in his own element being a president of the country, is a different story.

You must be getting paid. Or, you simply have no concept of what you write or think. Which thinking wouldn't be your strong point.

You can dislike the man but you cannot ignore his accomplishments.
Interesting way of dealing with reality: “you must be getting paid”. Disagreeing with your opinion is not a sign of cognitive impairment.

There is a video of Trump speaking at the UN. Nobody has to write anything. It’s there for all to see: lying, exaggerating, lying and talking smack.

Trump has picked fights with just about every country on earth except Russia, of course. How can you seriously expect applause from a roomful of people whose countries you’ve insulted? Is that what you think?

North Korea is not denuclearizing-where’s the deal he was going to make with NK? Nowhere

He has insulted our neighbors Canada and Mexico. Where is the new NAFTA? Nowhere

We’re in the middle of a trade war with China. Where is the new deal with China? Nowhere

He’s basically handed Syria over to Russia which makes his pal Putin very happy.

Where is the peace plan for the Middle East that Kushner was going to set up? Nowhere. All Kushner has done is use his office to line his pockets.

Trump thought that he was just going to do another one of his rallies at the UN. WRONG AUDIENCE for that sort of thing. Those people are serious and well informed.

The speech was just another session of chest pounding and bull crap. What an embarrassment.

If the messenger isn't credible, the message isn't credible. Trump proved that today. He hasn't been credible to the majority of Americans-- which IS the majority of America. And to most of the world. And he is decompensating and declining more all the time as we watch. Sadly, as today, he doesn't get it. But he does still have that schtick. Confabulation is natural to him but it for sure comes with dementia.

Whoever is the acting "president for the day" can disappear key documents off his desk to fend off disaster, but his staff hasn't quite figured a way to muzzle him completely. Sounds like they are trying desperately. Reaching out to a psychiatrist, increasing the rpms of their spin, shuffling and hiding documents and limiting the kinds and ways he gets information. These things have repeatedly been confirmed by three books, the recent NYT article and leaks containing troubling to dire reports from those inside the White House. Things aren't going to get better. Trumpers can keep deluding themselves until the bitter end when the final, frayed, thin thread gives way. Not going to change Trump's sliding competency.

He is no more invincible than millions of other older people whose family members have had to navigate this difficult transition from competency. They come from all walks of life, including the rich and powerful, but none were president (except very likely Reagan).

As Mark Twain said, "You can remain silent and be thought a fool or speak and remove all doubt." Just what Trump did again today.

The electoral college tail wagged the dog by electing Trump against the wishes of the popular majority. Now the staff inside the White House is wagging the dog by ruse, subterfuge and desperation; while Trump doesn't know what he doesn't know. Demonstrated by his response at the laughter today which took him aback, but not most people with good sense.

If he and his sycophants had a modicum more ethics and decency, this would be just sad. Instead it's truly pathetic and, rightfully, unsettling. But, they don't know what they don't know either. Yet.

Some consider this quite an accomplishment. It's why they vote Republican.

The tax cuts, not the deficits, of course.

What an embarrassment!

TBF - Trump started laughing himself and they seemed to be laughing with him for the most part. It also seemed a fairly nervous type of laugh, the kind of laugh you would make to try and endear yourself to a mad man with a gun or his finger on the trigger of a vast arsenal of nuclear weapons.
