And if the hypocritical Dems don't like it, and manage to persuade enough Republicans to swing their way....then let Trump nominate Kavanaugh again, and make it a campaign issue.

Dems were scared poopless (with good reason) in 2016 about what voters were going to do in the voting booth. Watching them squirm over how their mean-spirited incalcitrance will be perceived by the electorate, and how it could put the kibosh on their dream to win back both chambers, will be priceless.

She would have to.... or be immediately fired for lying to the question “has anyone advised you or given tips on how to take a polygraph” which is part of the questionnaire prior to taking those government employment required polygraphs. If you answer yes to that question that triggers a far more extensive background check. The major thing most people getting advise or tips are looking for is how to avoid admitting past drug use.

In other words - she has every reason to lie. The ex-boyfriend, on the other hand, didn’t really have a reason to give up a specific name. He could have gone with “some old friend of hers, whose name I don’t remember” instead.

Because it wasn't a real investigation. It was a sham to provide cover for Senators who were on the fence. It appears to have worked.

My friend's wife made allegations that he groped her (his wife!) while in bed, and got him kicked out of his own house! He was met by a sheriff's deputy when he returned home from work, was not allowed in his house, nor see his children.

His attorney told him - we could fight the allegations, or you can just proceed with a divorce.

So, yes, allegations of a sexual assault, alone, can be used to turn a man's life upside down in short order!

Please prove it.

We know you won't be there are absolutely ZERO respected organisations claiming a "red wave" at best you have a handful saying it won't be a blue one... but nobody with real data is saying otherwise. Or maybe you think internal polling in the oval office counts...

Nah, this was a fix to begin with. The premise for an investigation was not provided with good faith intentions, but simply as a bone to throw to the public to take the heat off of McConnell's intentions to ram the nomination through, come hell or high water. Limiting it to a week, limiting the people who the FBI could interview, and allowing Senators to look at this in a very limited time, and not releasing the contents? Give me a break.

Just seeing the GOP partisans crow about it pretty much confirms it.

The FBI investigation was over before it began. The GOP didn't want to find anything so it was determined not to. It went into this farce of an "investigation" blindfolded so it could say that it did one, looked into the allegations in three days, and of course they found no wrongdoing. They might not have found any wrongdoing no matter what, but with the corrupt Trump at the reins, how would the result be any different? He was going to get his guy confirmed at any cost.

cool anecdote, but the data says most sex crimes go unreported and while a few poeple lie, most women don't.

As to your friend he had a lousy lawyer. Any lawyer worth a cent would go after a fake claim because it is vastly harder for her to prove it than it is for him to defend himself. Which is exactly why most crimes go unreported.

Nobody is saying humans don't lie, what they are saying is that Ford is believable and Kavanaugh has been caught in 30 documented lies while under oath. Sure most are small but it shows he is not an honest man at his core.
