Yeah, I married an IT guy. He can be socially awkward in some ways, but he is so incredibly supportive of me in building a business and/or working and lots more.
Mine's not socially awkward at all, but I understand where the stereotype comes from.
How many people actually think there is a "silent backlash" coming
Personally from a woman who is 70 I think it has always been here and hasn't been very silent at times

My spouse is a consultant, who travels three weeks out of four and works with a continually changing roster of clients. If he did not like people, he'd be in real trouble.
There is going to be a backlash all right, but it's going to go the other way. Women compromise more than 50% of the population. Our days of sitting down, shutting up, and allowing men to get away with whatever they please is over.
We're in the 21st Century now. It's a new era. Get used to it.

I agree. People who have an understanding of and respect for appropriate boundaries have no reason to be fearful.
People who are so worried must questioning their past behavior. I have been a white collar employee for 30 years without so much as a hint of impropriety. I have no fear of working with women or being in their offices. So there must be some basis for your fears.
