At this point, someone devoted to the proposition that “both sides” are responsible for our incendiary political environment might point to the black-clad anarchist street fighters of antifa who regularly brawl with the far right. But even if you believe that the antifa movement is as violent as its right-wing opponents — it’s not — it has no real connection to the Democratic Party, which by most accounts it despises.
There is no serious comparison between left-wing and right-wing violence in this country, either in the scale of the phenomenon or the degree to which it is encouraged by political leaders.
And the far-right despises the GOP. Your article's special pleading has been noted.
Darn pay wall. It does seem like more violent events come from the Right-leaning Americans, but the Left-wingers sometimes do commit violent attacks. Why the Right-wingers seem to commit more of these crimes is what I question.

The anarchists for sure hate the "touchy-feely left" as much as they hate conservatives. Probably the same goes for most other Black bloc types. Maybe even a good portion of Antifa too.

But the GOP and its base DOES NOT despise the far-right. They make every excuse for them, protect them, and then shelter them.
Why is that?

A few months before the Unite the Right white nationalist rally in Charlottesville, Va., that devolved into a deadly riot, Corey Stewart, now the Republican candidate for Senate in that state, appeared at an event sponsored by one of Unite the Right’s organizers, Jason Kessler.
The founder of the violent right-wing street gang called the Proud Boys, proclaimed, “Fighting solves everything.” This month, he was invited to speak at the Metropolitan Republican Club, a G.O.P. clubhouse on the Upper East Side, where he reportedly re-enacted the 1960 murder of a Japanese Socialist Party leader.
So what about what Hillary, and Holder said recently. Scalise shooting, BLM, Antifa, all leftist violence.
What exactly did Holder say? And don't provide me with the purposefully cut version Fauxnews sold its dumb viewers that are so stupid they fell for it. Show me the full version and lets talk about it.
Bill Ayers, who was welcomed into The White House, killed more people than Cesar Sayoc, who has never been there.
He was invited as a Professor of Education and Senior University Scholar.
The ones who got invited to the Republican platform were invited as bigots, racists, and violent preacher.
Even you can tell the difference, right?
