Did a Google News search from August 1 to October 29 for "Monro-Leighton". Two hits to NOQ articles that were updated after this broke. Otherwise no relevant hits. Not surprising there was a girl who cried wolf, but doesn't look like anyone paid any attention to it at the time. So we have a nobody that wasn't considered credible at the time now, apparently, recanting false statements.
I agree, if true she should be prosecuted but it's not that interesting.

This. Just because one woman jumped on the bandwagon and falsely claimed rape, doesn't mean that Justice Kavanaugh is innocent of all charges, and there were many. The way the White House curtailed the hearings and silenced witnesses - not to mention Kavanaugh's own questionable statements and inappropriate displays of emotion during the process - strongly suggests to me that Kavanaugh should not have been confirmed.
What many? You mean there was one weird claim where no one, even her friend, backed her up, and one drunken party claim by a woman who couldn’t even remember who did it because she was passed out and even the New York Times couldn’t find anyone with firsthand knowledge after interviewing dozens of people, and another that was so obviously a lie that she may face criminal prosecution.
