Oblivious to hordes of Illegal Aliens, illegally crossing the borders. They think this is fine.
Complain loudly when citizens legally organize to stop it. They say all kinds of bad things will happen.
Has to be seen to be believed.
Waldo logic, on the other hand is oblivious to history and some of the events that shook the nation; Kent State being just one of them. Those were supposedly highly trained week-end warriors all in uniform and following orders.
Take three converging entities all with different mission statements and ROE's, then throw just one nutcase into the mix and what would any intelligent individual think could be the possible worst case scenario result. Add to that; Texas landowners who are themselves worried about these "militia" arriving on their land and now you've got a fourth entity to consider should just one shot be fired that takes down someone seen as a defenceless victim.
The professional military are under orders, but if I were to guess, want no part of having to actually shoot a civilian and would rather be anywhere else. Now they stand the very real possibility of having to watch as an American shoots an unarmed person.
I've been present when the Mexican military have shown up when Border patrol were attempting to apprehend border jumpers in the Imperial Sand dunes. They would be the fifth entity in the stew.
Those types of situations are always just one pin-drop from disaster.
Yeah, this could turn out to be a real chit-show.
Hopefully these migrants all get some sense and turn around.
Protect themselves from what? They have no reason to be there at all. Even if there are some armed members of the caravan, it's in Mexico City, about 657 miles from the Texas border. Are you suggesting 5100 troops can't handle an at least mostly unarmed caravan from that far away? What do they need 300 vigilante members for?
They don't. But the vigilante members get to fondle their gunz and be a pretend soldier.
Doesn't speak well for the US military if the locals have to suit up and give them hand. Someone should tell the locals thanks but no thanks, our guys can handle whole armies with tanks and bombs ,they'll be okay handling a bunch of women an children.

You didn't answer my question. Do "the military" tell you personally what they worry about? Or can you post a link that will enlighten us all regarding how you came to be in possession of your knowledge of what "the military" worries about? Please.

The militia can argue with the military over who gets to play the iron in the next Monopoly game, I suppose.
Civilian border patrols would seem to be private actors since they are not operating under the color of federal or state law or at the behest or direction of federal or state authorities. As private actors, civilian patrols appear to have the right to gather and conduct some of their activities under a combination of constitutional and common law rights and privileges.
Don't get me wrong. I understand the concern of some of you, but the idea of civilian volunteer has never been a bad thing, as long as they are organized.
For example,Although some participants were armed, Minutemen volunteers (for example) were instructed not to engage in hostile confrontations with any illegal alien. THEY DO HAVE RULES TO FOLLOW. They are simply not a bunch of ruthless heartless morons who are afraid of brown people. let's get real here.
About 200 members of the Militia groups are currently guarding the Texas border. Militia groups, heavily armed organizations that train members in paramilitary techniques ― often are right-wing extremist organizations. 100 members of the Texas Minutemen are headed to the Rio Grande now. They traveled to the border, stoked by fears that dangerous illegal immigrants are coming to invade the country. With the caravan, large numbers of trained military, and untrained armed militia combined with a powder keg of explosive emotions, what can possibly go wrong?
In reality. There are reports of some Milita groups are heading to the border between ports of entry. No details of their paramilitary training techniques. "The unclassified report, dated Oct. 27 and published by Newsweek on Thursday, states that officials are anticipating the presence of about 200 militia members along the border.". ""We don't have any specific information about the militias," Rio Grande Valley Border Patrol Chief Manuel Padilla Jr. said."
Minutemen have been patrolling the border for decades. They are watchers who report to the border patrol.
Talk about explosive emotions. Perhaps you and the author of the crap piece you linked should take a breath.
