HOUSTON (AP) -- The U.S. government has awarded a $167 million contract to build 8 miles of border wall in south Texas.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection announced the contract Wednesday. Construction will begin in February. CBP already announced a $145 million award for another 6 miles (10 kilometers) in South Texas' Rio Grande Valley.
Galveston, Texas-based construction firm SLSCO won both contracts.

CBP says it plans to install fence posts on the levee north of the Rio Grande, the river that separates the U.S. and Mexico in Texas, as well as lighting, patrol roads, and the clearing of vegetation.
Nothing funnier than watching Trump supporters who literally wanted a "big beautiful wall" that Trump sold them, only to spin and pretend to be happy about a 6 mile FENCE.
Trump imagined a 30 foot concrete wall along most of the entire border, something that could keep Godzilla out.
But in reality, Trump is getting a six-mile fence. Haha.
What a waste when there are smarter ways to deal with this. And Mexico still isnt paying for this, so a campaign promise still unkept no matter what his supporters say.

But it's EIGHT this time. So much more impressive.

You can't even name one smarter way that ICE isn't already using. Ask the ICE officers working on the border, walls work.

Correct. $145M of US Tax payer money for a 6 mile fence.
Notice how the Trumpers here stopped trying to spin that story altogether. American taxpayers are paying for that wall.

I didnt say anything about ICE. And I meant the entire issue. The majority are now visa overstays, so not truly reforming that and associated problems, and going so hardcore over a wall like this first when a minority would be stopped by it, is asinine.
