It is because private land owners in Texas don't want that "wall" on their private property.

Fox News and Limpballs won't tell you that. They, trump. and the GOP would rather blame democrats than to actually solve problems.

If there are those who don't want a wall on their properties then so be it. They can just deal with the drug cartels, illegal trespassers and other unsavory characters all by themselves then that will funnel right through their properties. They'd be crying for a wall in no time. In the meantime the Democrats and some sell out Republicans are still fighting against funding the wall in places where it is feasible and needed.

A garden wall? Have you seen the fence around the White house, or walls that surround the homes of the wealthy? You really think the winning tactic for your argument is to ridicule the purely common sense reality, that the first step in preventing people from trespassing, is a physical barrier of some type?

Is it really that difficult for you to comprehend that there are different layers of protection?

Oh, so now it's "wildly expensive?" The cost of a border wall is chump change, compared to the cost in taxpayer dollars that illegal immigration, drug trafficking, smuggling, etc... cost the nation.

Do you have any clue how much it costs US taxpayers each year to clothe, feed, educate and care for the tens of millions of illegal aliens in the US? Or the cost to US workers for the suppressed wages caused by illegals who will work for pennies on the dollar? Not to mention the cost in lives and property, and the drug trade, that criminal illegal aliens impose on the nation each year?

A simple physical barrier is just one small piece of the larger solution. We need to control our borders, and a fence, wall, and forms of digital surveillance is the first step, but it's a crucial component.

A small percentage don't want a wall and they typically speak Spanish and have Hispanic surnames. Blood runs thicker than water.

So you are saying all the folks that voted for Clinton is a small percentage?

Really because more American voters voted for Clinton -- yeah yeah she lost fair and square (well except in North Carolina where nothing is fair when it comes to voting these days -- lol)....but we are talking just numbers now.

AND -- given that House Republicans keep telling us they don't have a vote -- it seems that the small percentage for the Wall are out numbered by the bigger percentage that won't vote for it...that's why there hasn't been a vote yet.

So -- keep telling yourself about your small percentage...it seems to give you comfort...but know -- meh -- your number game is lame.

I live in a gated neighborhood and i can assure you the fences surround my neighborhood is anything but a "garden wall". It's 6 feet in height with spikes and we have roving security 24/7.

In addition a lot of houses in my neighborhood have surveillance cameras and/or intruder/burglar alarm.

What are you even talking about? My comment was about Texas landowners on the border opposing the wall in response to someone saying Texas landowners opposed the wall and citing an article that actually gave no examples of Texas landowners opposing a wall but merely someone's warning that some landowners will oppose a wall.

Are you saying that all the folks that voted for Clinton are Texas landowners on the border?

There are deep pocketed lobbyists who love illegal immigration, for the lower wages, the low cost labor, and of course the votes. There are states that allow illegal aliens to vote in elections, so it's all about votes now with the Democrats.

Just ten years ago all the Decorative Party leaders, Pelosi, Schumer, Obama, Hilary, Reid, etc... all favored a border wall/fence, and were vehemently opposed to illegal immigration. Then around 2010 or so, they all flipped, and refuse to even fund the very border fence that Schumer, Obama, Clinton, etc, all voted for back in 2006.

Trump the cowardly punk blinks first: White House says Trump will "back down" from his border wall demands, government will avoid shutdown.

Trump, "master negotiator." Haha!

This has nothing to do with his beliefs or convictions, and everything to do with him not wanting to be stuck in Washington over the holidays. He has golfing to do and supporters to fleece. That's much more important than a stupid wall even he admits was merely a rallying cry for his supporters at his little pep rallies and little else anyway.
