Something I witnessed today made me want to get your opinion here.
I'm the last guy to have a respected opinion on this topic but you aren't getting any play, and I think you probably should.
I'm the last guy to have a respected opinion on this subject because I'm a 50+ year-old non-father. My opinion comes from my childhood, not from any experience parenting. Having laid that groundwork, I think giving a kid a butt wack in public is probably okay. It's more embarrassing than painful, assuming the butt hit isn't done violently and with intent to injure. But you might find a psychologist who will tell you that any kind of a physical stike on a child can do emotional damage. And maybe that's right. I'll say this; if a kid is spanked in public, then there must be some adult presnet there doing the spanking. And that's something.
