Trump has held political office for 2 years now and he is still learning the ways of DC. He is catching on that politicians lie and flip flop all the time. How is this any different than what Hillary has been doing for years.
It sounds like Trump fits right in with the rest of the morons in the White House, because he’s doing the same thing as the rest of them. He’s not different in that regard what Trump does is lie and gets caught doing it ON video and just denies it. Can’t remember a president who lies as much as this guy does.
And let’s not go into what an embarrassment he is.
This one takes the cake. No federal employee (except possibly political appointees) states their political party to employers for any reason. Just the opposite in fact. No political campaign-party or election activities permitted on the jobsite (Hatch Act of 1939...most likely just another federal law he doesn't understand). Last time I checked, ballot responses were private.
It should no longer be news that he's bragging about something.
It’s his way of justifying keeping them unemployed because in his toxic, narcissistic mind he is only the president for those who support and voted for him, not all Americans.
Lots of elderly, children, and disabled people will be hungry. Many people on both sides of the political spectrum and probably even more who don't care either way.
I doubt the shutdown will last that long though. Once Congress reconvenes, it's likely that the House and the Senate will agree on a plan that allows for something like 1.6 or maybe 2 billion dollars for border control, it will be signed, and that will be the end of it. My guess is that it will be roughly what Trump refused to sign a couple weeks ago.
Not too worried about it. Jan 3rd the democrats pass a CR with no riders, and basically say "take it or leave it". And the odds are....the senate will take it, and if trump vetoes they override it, and things get going again.
If the Republicans refuse then the Democrats just wait. Everyone talks about what the Republican base wants, but folks need to remember what the Democrat base wants. They want the Democrats to act more like Republicans, and be the party of no. For all 8 years of Obamas presidency the Democrats have been watching how effective the Republicans behavior was.
And yeah, its sort of perturbing. Hopefully things will get better and Republicans will come to the table and actually try to negotiate instead of bully. But the Democrat base doesn't want the Republicans to just have their way.

What will Limbaugh and Hannity have to say about this?
It will be a lot more people getting no money if the shutdown continues. Payments from the Trump subsidies to cushion the blow from Trump tariffs on farmers won't get paid. 42,000 US Coast Guard members won't get paid. Federal workers will not be paid, lots of ugly stuff will happen for sure.
Trump and his incompetent Republicans had full control of all 3 branches for 2 years and passed NOTHING for his stupid wall promises. Now they think their best move is shut down government and blame Democrats the day they walk in. Seriously, the Republicans are completely spineless and totally incompetent.
