I would like the money already earmarked for border security to be spent on actual border security including hiring more people to patrol the borders. Not sure it makes sense to militarize the border but ok.

As for the wall idea $5 billion is just a start, it will cost much more than this. The big myth is libs do not want border security. That is complete nonsense. But as long as smugglers can dig tunnels and use ladders many of us feel the wall is not going to solve the problem.
How can the Democrats be responsible when they don't control anything currently?

It is utterly bizarre. The republicans have been in full power for two years now. So why aren't these things getting done?? A president can't accomplish basic campaign promises with the House and the Senate comprised of his own party and the minions blame the OTHER party? On what planet does that make any sense at all?
It's moot now; he will be a lame duck for the next two years and then we can hopefully wrap up this embarrassing chapter in our country's history.

Not all or even most. You know that right? The ones they dragged along with them breaking into our country are no more citizens than their criminal parents. Yet we by law must educate them. They use our ER's and dont pay.
The wall may prevent some of what we blow on illegals, where as the other waste I listed? No chance of any return.

No one solution will completely solve this issue. A barrier will help solve the problem, only people that want to deny the president his agenda will disagree with this. Every bit of money we spend on protecting our border is a good investment. Our government wastes billions on nonsense every year that doesn’t benefit our citizens in anyway. Moronic is "doing the same thing over and over even though it doesn't solve the problem". That's the way border security works - we have been obviously doing it wrong for many, many years. It got worse under Obama when he arbitrarily relaxed the rules.
