How effective will a wall be when you can just dig under it?
How effective will a wall be when you can just get a ladder?
How effective will a wall be when you have people who extreamly motivated because they are extreamly desperate with little to lose who have shovels and bare hands to dig with and smart brains to overcome obstacles with?

Just read this article today:

30 unaccompanied children were among 376 migrants who tunneled under border wall into Arizona | Fox News

https://www.foxnews.com/us/30-unacco...l-into-arizona
Send them all home. Build the wall.

OP - Do you have a door on your house? Does it have a lock on it? You know, a determined burglar will find a way to get in, so why don't you just leave your door open, or maybe just remove it? After all, it is not 100% effective.

It's all been covered repeatedly. The factual results showing that where walls have been strengthened (San Diego, Yuma, El Paso) the result has been 90% reduction in illegal apprehensions and associated crime. The factual results of the last mass caravan in November in which 5000-7000 migrants arrived in Tijuana with the aim of crossing immediately into America yet up to 5000 are still in Tijuana now because of the barriers in that section. The fact that 90% of border patrol agents - the boots on the ground that would know - says that the wall would be an effective tool in their mission.

Easy to see? Ya think?!? Another good hoot!

You are like Trump Jr! Rather than accept and admit that Obama is not the topic of focus here, and rather than admit that bringing up others, other wrong doing, is nothing but more deflection, (not to mention the link I DID provide that does a pretty good job of criticizing Obama despite the fact that Obama is not POTUS today), you just double down and continue the same nonsense just like Trump does!

I can EASILY defend what Obama did right and EASILY criticize where Obama fell short, though perhaps not better in my own words as those in the link I provided. Fact remains, however, Obama is not the one now pushing for a $5 billion dollar wall after promising that Mexico would pay for it.

That's Trump, not Obama!

Want to stop playing your childish games now, because I think that's called, starts with d..., rhymes with umm...

Don't like it, that little red thing at the top right of my posts, let the mods decide....

I'm sure you have already tried, and you're mad because my posts are still there.
It is hypocrisy to point at what others do that you argue is not right, then deflect the discussion from the topic at hand which is also not right. I could elaborate, but here too I don't think the definition of hypocrisy is the topic of this thread or deserving of more time wasted here. Suffice to say, you have no special understanding of hypocrisy over everyone else here who understands the definition plenty well enough.

Might also add I have no idea what the little red thing at the top of your posts might be. Should I care? I don't comment here for mods. I am simply expressing my opinion and trying to justify it best I can while also questioning the rationale for opinion different from mine. Sue me.

Have no idea what you mean about your posts still being there, but I've got no problem with that either. Why should I? Seems you're playing a game I'm not familiar with, and it doesn't sound like one I'd be interested in, if it is other than to exchange opinion; facts, reason and logic, best we can.

The facts of the San Diego, Tucson and El Paso sectors state otherwise

You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity by legislating the wealthy out of prosperity . . . . What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving . . . . The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else . . . .. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friend, is the beginning of the end of any nation . . . .You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it."

- Adrian Rogers, 1931

For those who understand, no explanation is needed. For those who do not understand, no explanation is possible.

The newer sections of wall are augered down very deeply into the earth; this is in part why the price tag for new construction is so high. The new design better prevents tunneling, which is most common along the AZ border because of the soft sand there.

The ladder strategy is a false premise, plain and simple. With the exception of the most populated border areas where supplies like a tall ladder can be found, how in the hell is someone supposed to carry a large ladder hundreds of miles through the desert? These people can’t even carry enough basic supplies to keep themselves hydrated and fed. And they don’t have a penny to their name. But they’re going to hump an expensive tall ladder through the Chihuahua desert? And what do they do with the ladder once they’re at the wall? Use it to climb up one side then what - jump 30 feet down the other side? ROFL. I wish people would think these things out a bit more.

A wall will not stop all from breaking into America but it will slow most and outright discourage others.

We have walls and fences all over the place and when you approach one do you climb over it or do you move to the Left or Right of it until you find an opening to go through to gain access to the playground, the sporting fields, the concert, theme park or a friends house?

Why should America be open to just anyone walking in?

A physical wall will be a deterrent that the next Democrat President can't just tear down.
Of course the wall will need to be patrolled and watched as sections are watched today.

We have border agents armed with night vision technology, drones and how about ground penetrating radar to find those tunnels.

Why are the Dems so pig headed about border security? There is a problem that they can't even admit to.

I think they are against it for no other reason than Trump is for it. Pig Headed.
