Default Trump, Catholic Church Battle Over Chapel in Way of Border Wall

Quote:
About 800 feet from the border, near a horseshoe bend in the Rio Grande separating the United States from Mexico, is the historic La Lomita Chapel.

The Catholic chapel, built in 1899 in Mission, Texas, is a white stone and wood single-room structure in the middle of an open field. It is now a tourist attraction because of its rich history as a site where Calvary of Christ missionaries performed baptisms, marriages, and funerals.

“Everybody sees this as our mother church and it’s forever sacred in our memory," Father Roy Snipes, a 73-year-old clergyman who leads a nearby Catholic church, told The Daily Beast on Wednesday.

“They are trying to bully us but we are not backing down,” said Snipes, who made his final vows nearly four decades ago at La Lomita. “The wall goes against our beliefs as Catholics and as Texans. We refuse to let them bulldoze our church for something that will harm people in need.”

So many years of litigation will ensue from so many entities that are situated at the border that all alive now will be worm's meat by the time it is done.

All the more reason to get started sooner rather than later.

This line of reasoning reminds me of the self-perpetuating argument enviros used against drilling in ANWR: "It will be 10 years before the oil starts coming online anyway!" Yeah well, maybe if you hadn't been fighting the issue for the last 10 years it would be a productive oil field by now.

“Here are some of the steel slats that the president’s been talking about,” Acosta said while reporting from the southern border. “But as we’re walking along here, we’re not seeing any kind of imminent danger.”

“There are no migrants trying to rush toward this fence.”

He captioned the video, “I found some steel slats down on the border. But I don’t see anything resembling a national emergency situation.. at least not in the McAllen TX area of the border where Trump will be today.”

Well DUH Jim ..... this is exactly what the Republicans and President Trump have been saying ....
Fences and Wall have been proven by data to stop over 90% of the Border Crashers - They Work!

Thanks for adding to the Data
Omg the twisting like a pretzel is killing my neck ! He showing it’s not like a billion people trying to get in like in the movie zombie apocalypse World war Z. There’s no national emergency or crisis !

Default Would a mine field be more effective than a wall?

how about a 1 mile "neutral zone" between the 2 countries--anyone steps 1 foot into it and they are punished..how about that?

Any more ideas since you all hate the wall?

What about the people that own that property? Will they be paid for their loss of land? What about access to the Rio Grande for water?

I'd much rather a mine field around your home, I bet it would make the country much safer.

Yes, we can blow the legs off of children just like during the Viet Nam war. And if that doesn't tickle your fancy enough, we can throw in some butterflies to tear the wings off of.
