Donald Trump is rebranding a political issue as a state of emergency just so he can save face.
19 days into the shutdown, Trump realizes that he's lost the fight, and every day the shutdown goes on, it only gets worse and worse for Donald.
The only way out of this for Trump without looking like a wimpy loser is to go the declaration of emergency route. White House Advisors have already told him that it probably would not make it through the courts, but it at least will allow him to appear as having tried.
Mushroom Donny can say to his base "I tried to use my powers to declare an emergency to get the wall, but the damn courts are holding it up!" and meanwhile, since Trump thinks he's looked tough, he'll reopen the gov't.

It is an emergency if the Dems won't even agree that we have a problem at the border.
Border security is important but the Dems don't seem to care about protecting America. They are playing politics with people lives on both sides of the border and their livelehoods. It wasn't that long ago that top Dems were telling us how important border security was. What has changed? Are the Dems eyeing the masses that are lining up to break our immigration laws as their future voter base? Or do they hate Trump that much that they would deny a common sense motion to protect Americans?
It'll be a knockout blow, with Schumer and Pelosi stunned at their loss.

As long as Americans are getting killed, assaulted, raped, and there is heroin coming here, I would say that qualifies as an emergency.
Most of the problems stem from the left refusing to acknowledge that there is a problem at all and to them it's just a game of politics. If you think the right is gullible, then that would make the left stone cold blind.
