It is a tantrum if you're a Trump hater and hoping he doesn't have any kind of backbone. Dems just aren't use to anyone standing up to them and they don't like it one bit. All of a sudden, they aren't calling all the shots anymore. Elections have consequences, right? Thank you President Obama for making that very clear to all of us.

How ironic.

Yes, elections do have consequences. And the dems, are, in fact, calling the shots.

Trump is a leader? The word "leader" implies a person who is heading an organization that is accomplishing a task. So no, Trump is not a leader.

I agree.

When I think of a "leader", there are qualities that make for great ones.

1. Willingness to negotiate in good faith, and back down out of an idea that isn't supported by the masses.

2. Ability to be cordial and respectful to adversaries.

3. Ability to give adversaries an easy way to save face in negotiations.

4. Vision of how to make the community/organization/business better, and more inclusive and welcoming.

5. Appeal for all (or at least most) members, and ability to engender respect (not fear) in adversaries.

Trump is a bully. Virtually no one who works with him respects or admires him. Fear isn't the way to lead, and he's found that out. Or anyway, he's made that clear to anyone watching, although he doesn't seem to be able to understand it.

An adult temper tantrum does not need to involve throwing ones toys on the floor, stomping around and yelling (though it's funny that we expectt hat from Trump). Trump was angry about the SOTU leter from Pelosi, wanted to get her back, and made a decision that ****s his own people while really doing no harm to Pelosi. Trump could have used Pelosi's trip as a way to turn public opinion against her regarding the shutdown, instead he pulled a Trump.

Had he thought out the chain of events (or relied on someone who was capable of such a thing), instead of letting his emotions guide his actions, Pelosi would have looked awful for travelling abroad during the ****down, he would have had good press from the WEF, and Pelosi wouldn't have been here to start talking about the Cohen news that broke yesterday.

Yea, his temper and temperament cost him BIGLY!

Well it apparently is why he got votes. Telling you who to hate and "owning the libs" is what matters, is it? I guess that is how he won that election.

I don't think many Americans are falling for it anymore. This post reveals that the Republican Party has sold their soul to the faction of no substance, ignorant power, greed and hate. True patriots are aware.

Trump’s candidacy and his presidency are largely predicated on being the guy who picks the fights that commentators in conservative media say should be picked. The appeal of smacking down liberal political opponents, has enormous traction in some circles, such as on this forum and including in much of Trump’s base.

Governing, by annoying Democrats, is where he has you. This thread reveals that he has many others as well. Have you even thought about that? Is this an effective way to lead a country, defend and protect America and solve real issues and work on complex problems that affect everyone who inhabits our nation? Or are you and the so called base simply content to be in the camp of a self interested hate mongering faux leader?

I am putting my money on hate being trumped by patriotism and substance. Evidenced by the 2018 midterms.

LOL. This is funny. Sorry Nancy and all your wacko leftist pals. The taxpayers aren't footing the bill for this little excursion. And all federal flights are under the direction of either the Air Force or Navy. The CiC has control over federal govt aircraft. And the security personnel that go with them. I don't see Nancy and company footing the bill themselves for both transportation and security. Good move on Trumps part.

Every senator actually has 3 offices, two whose location is known and one hidey-hole that even other senators aren't told location except by one it belongs to, if they so choose.

Also a CO-DEL going to a war zone is not something that gets thrown together last minute, the trip probably was planned just after the election when no one knew that Trump would shut down the government because Mexico would not pay for the wall.
