Except Trump. His being in the Oval office is the scary issue. He has created quite enough damage on his own and who knows what will happen in the next 2 years. He is who I worry about. Terribly dangerous creature.

There's always damage when demolition takes place. Sometimes it is necessary. What's the particular damage you're referring to here?

That is what is called the 'Trump Doctrine.'

The President does not select the President of The World Bank.

On governance matters, the World Bank Group (WBG) operates like any other corporation: there is a Board of Governors representing the interest of the shareholders. The only difference is that in this particular case, the shareholders are the governments of 188 member countries represented by the ministers of finance or development. The governors delegate specific duties to 25 executive directors. The five largest shareholders appoint an executive director, while other member countries are represented by elected executive directors. The President of WBG is selected by the Board of Executive Directors for a five-year, renewable term.
