The Democrats had fixes that Republicans would not vote for. It's that simple. So the Republicans are guilty of keeping the ACA a "failed policy" so they could keep harping on about how it was broken. What was their fix?

That is just playing with words. They need to be able to actually see the doctor even if poor, no access now if poor. I believe everyone should contribute to the system, even the low income. I'm not crazy about how many people pay no tax, everyone but the truly destitute should put in something, particularly if there is a universal system put in place.

Paying more in taxes does not mean you are paying more.
We paid $34 per month for 2 people under our Employer Insurance - that included Dental/Vision.

When we were forced into Medicare (age 65) - the monthly cost went from $34 per month for 2 to $300 per month for 2 ..... AND we lost the Dental/Vision insurance. We also lost the opportunity to pay into a Health Savings account. Good for you that you don't mind paying 10 times more for Medicare that is going away under Single Payer.

Anytime you "pay more in taxes" ....... you "pay more" period. It can't be otherwise.

I ask again -- did this poll ask those on Medicare if they wanted to give that up (keep in mind I don't like it at all) for something unknown? Did this poll ask those who have Employer provided Insurance plans if they want to give that up? (I wouldn't). Did this poll ask those who have Collective Bargaining (UNION) negotiated Health Insurance agreements if they want to give up all that?

I'm guessing NO to all of those. I look forward to the Poll that asks those exactly questions.

Medicare for all would not make anyone give up Medicare.

oh please.... the whole problem is insurance (both governmental and private)..

why should you EXPECT some entity (or someone else) to pay YOUR BILL

I can open up the yellow pages and look up ANY doctor and make an appointment...and be seen...but like any other service they expect to be paid

when your car needs a tube up, or an annual inspection (exam)..do you call your auto insurance to file a claim....nope

when your house needs a new washer, or a paint job or new windows......do you call your home owners insurance to file a claim....nope

the WHOLE problem is the entitlement mentality, they YOU..yes YOU..EXPECT some one else to pay you bill

We have no idea what it would cover. Medicaid would become redundant.

just to clarify he said medicare would be eliminated under a true singlepayer

MfA is NOT singlepayer (singlepayer means one single entity and ONLY one single entity pays 100% of the particular bill (meaning no copays..if there is a copay then it is not singlepayer its dual payer)) (MfA is an 80/20 insurance)
