Fox News and their Obsession With Socialism is a Third Red Scare (Congress, generation)

Ten minutes ago I watched Fox News for about as long as I could stand it. Which was about five minutes. The group was four attractively dressed female commentators and one male commentator. They used the word socialism at least five times. They used it when they connected Sanders, Elizabeth Warren, and of course Venezuela.

The definition of Socialism is the state ownership of major industry as an evolutionary step toward communism. This obsession by Fox News commentators would be laughable if so many of you didn't take this new Red Scare seriously.

Here is the definition about what was tried before from Wikipedia:

"A "Red Scare" is promotion of widespread fear by a society or state about a potential rise of communism, anarchism, or radical leftism. The term is most often used to refer to two periods in the history of the United States with this name. The First Red Scare, which occurred immediately after World War I, revolved around a perceived threat from the American labor movement, anarchist revolution and political radicalism. The Second Red Scare, which occurred immediately after World War II, was preoccupied with the perception of national or foreign communists infiltrating or subverting U.S. society or the federal government."

Based on the Wikipedia definition above Fox News is engaged in a third Red Scare.

Nobody is clamoring for fascism yet the msm/left/democrats have been running ten fold+ with that narrative since Trump. Socialism has at least been promoted by some lefties so there is some credibility to the concern.

1. It turns out the first "red scare" was correct- McCarthy, who's name is synonymous with a witch hunt, was correct in retrospect after the declassification of documents after the fall of the USSR. The left has always vilified McCarthy as falsely accusing many in Hollywood of leftist/communist associations. It turns out he was right. It's weird you don't hear much about that.


2. Today, there is a rise of Marxism/socialism in the US. Witness Bernie Sanders and ACO. Loons like them would have been relegated to the rubbish pile of politics 20 years ago. Now they are celebrated as "new" (their ideas failed 50 years ago) and a "unique" approach to US politics. There is a sucker born every minute and every generation from every nation falls for the Marxist lie, until it destroys their nation.


You don't need to convince any citizens from the old east bock countries. They have seen the failures of communism first hand and don't need another education.

I don’t care what your definition or anyone else’s definition of socialism is, I do not want to pay for other people’s stuff. Period. I don’t need government to decide what’s good for me. I know what’s good for me and I pay for me and not for thee.

Communism was in vogue in the nineteen thirties. Many people in Hollywood joined the communist party for no other reason than it was fashionable. The Soviets were our allies in the forties. There was no stigma to simply belonging to the communist party. Then came Tail Gunner Joe and the Red Scare ruining careers through fear. Then came the suicides because people were ruined and black listed for what was fashionable ten years earlier. McCarthy's vilification was justifiable and Nixon too.

There are communists on the ballot for President every four years. You need to look at the bottom of the ballot in 2020. They haven't been getting much traction since they were on the ballot in the sixties. If Sanders and the new Congresswoman from Queens are doing well and getting their messages heard, it's because people are doing worse. Their message has nothing to do with Marxism. As usual someone needs to rise up and complain when the middle class hopes for a better deal.

I know what you're trying to say, but it's wrong. The left is trying to sell their brand of anti-Americanism as being Americanism. "this isn't our values" as if their BS is somehow all of our values. They are insidious liars, nothing more.
