by the way, LBJ got 49% to McCarthy 42% in N.H.....He didn't blow him off the water as you say. LBJ still had the labor unions and big-city party bosses (led by Mayor Daley) This group had traditionally controlled the Democratic Party since the days of President FDR and they feared loss of their control over the party to the hippies, college students intellectuals anti-war wing of the party. After Johnson's withdrawal, this group rallied to support Hubert Humphrey, which follows LBJ's policies and eventually won him the nomination and lost a very close election in the general to Nixon.

LBJ could have won the nomination in 1968 if he wanted it in a blody civil war but he didn't have the stomach for it and was sick. He would have done better than Humphrey against Nixon in the general because LBJ was a better campaigner than Humphrey and as dirty as Nixon.

Trump doesn't have that in the GOP what LBJ had within the party in 1968. So you are comparing apples and oranges.

I don't know what leftist propaganda you are reading (Pravada/NYT,,,, i.e. one in the same), but rest assured most (R's) will be voting for Trump again. If for no other reason, the (D's) will have the most radical leftist SJW in their history as their nominee.
Heck with Hillary trying to get to the left of Bernie, and abandoning all of her husbands reasoned positions,
God only knows what leftist kook will be running against Trump.

BUT NO ONE, will have a chance to "primary" Trump unless something radical were to occur.

and has the money and backing to last and battle a 50 state primary to take on a sitting President.....not even Reagan who was a popular governor could do that in 1976 against Ford and Ford didn't win any primary or election to be there. Trump has.
this guy has potential..... not for a few years though...………

Trump is alienating his base, but there is no alternative with national name recognition.

is he going to run left of Trump? He can't outdo Trump in tax cuts and conservative judges 'cause Trump has done that while fighting the Democrats tooth and nail.....is Kasich is going to take the nomination from Trump with open borders, amnesty and that the wall is a waste of money? that is not popular in the GOP......is he going to take it by pushing for more wars in Siria and more occupations in the Middle East (more of a war hawk?) that is not popular in the GOP either.

Unless you think Kasich is going to unseat Trump on personality (Trump will beat him with his pinky finger) what issues Kasich is going to unseat Trump with that the base will be happy to vote for him in the primary and general? NOTHING. Kasich has nothing other that he is a better moral man than Trump. He could try that campaign but is not going to work.

War chest? after his weak showing in 2016, what major donor will waste millions on Kasich? donors give millions of their dollars for good bets because they want things in return and Kasich is a loser of a horse.

Democracy and voting are unrelated concepts.

I don't know how you guys think you know the minds of the GOP voters.
I was a Trumper from the start, all of my friends and associates didn't like him, they all liked some other repub...mostly Cruz.

Since his election ALL of them secretly admit that they now think he was the best chopice and LOVE how he fights back!

They also love how he makes the left look like imbeciles...of course...that's all behind closed doors...outside, they don't talk about it for fear of attacks, myself included...we don't fear the actual attacks, mind you, we fear the repercussions legally for our actions agaist the attacker(s).
