It's his MO. He 100% considers his ignorant hunches on par with actual knowledge and expertise. His vanity will allow for nothing less.

Then again, contempt for the intellectual process is pretty much a necessity for a populist movement. Look at his rallies - they're emotional, not rational, and the only way to make that work is to tell your followers that what they feel should be true is, in fact, the truth. Actual facts just get in the way.

This is a guy who not only claims to have won a golf tournament he didn't play in, but had his name engraved on the plaque. Facts just do not matter.

Fossil fuels run the world for a reason. Get over it.

Oil won't last forever. We are in a cheaper oil cycle that slows more alternative energy usage. But as battery storage cells Constantly improve and other sources can become cheaper.

Who sees the future is still on oil? All we need is another Middle-east crisis to get speculators skyrocketing oil prices again. Even Saudi Arabia is planning the day its oil dwindles. Dubai is its future it invest in.

Homes doing more solar is a future ..... who would not welcome?

Trump's comment clearly is funny and stupid at the same time. He gives the late night comedians plenty of ammunition.

I mean who doesn't get a chuckle out of "because the wind only blows sometimes"

But with Trump ..... it is always extreme rhetoric meant to demean others or comment on things he could be better informed with. No one can complement a demeanor that is constantly with anger, malice and need to get-even by insults or mocking.

Guess we just get use to it as normal. But totally unnecessary most times where a non-answer and spin is better chosen. Sure wind power is no big factor seen at this time. But ignorance to see air movement is only sometimes blowing.

And horses were essential to military, agriculture and transportation for centuries. Why are we getting one sob story after another about the plight of coal country if those magnificent fuels are so superior?

Yet you all took him literally when he said Mexico would pay for the wall.

obama wanted to go to full wind power, but he couldn't get all 57 states on board.

If you read it, it also says this.
In other words, an electricalsupply system based on today’s PV technologies cannot be termedan energy source, but rather a non-sustainable energy sink or anon-sustainable NET ENERGY LOSS
Didn't get to the wind part but clearly it says that any renewable based on solar technology represents a net energy loss.

Trump was right yet again. Thanks for the link.

(you really ought to read these things you google up)

So do you and Trump feel fossil fuels are key to the future in 30-50 years still?

I'm not young so I won't be here. But still. Oil sources eventually will be tapped out. We can dig in more inhospitable locations perhaps. But Saudis Arabia and even Texas will reach a point most by far is tapped.

No one says wind power in giant windmills are a replacement. Supplement yes. Areas wind is very common very viable. But again, cheaper oil periods slow any replacements that won't last forever.

Nations without much fossil fuel. Clearly, will do alternatives earliest. But home Solar panels getting better in use and storage. Clearly, should be in many more new housing. Especially suburban. IMO already.

*** Clearly though, to say wind only blows some of the time was just stupid against wind-power to use by Trump.... and more late-nite comedian fuel (pun intended).

He needs to avoid saying things he knows little about. LEARN TO SPIN and not let thin-skinned push his buttons so easy to lash out foolishly.

At some point in time we are going to run out of fossil fuels it could be 50, 75, or more, but at some point we need to find another source of fuel.
