Wealthy people hogging all the wealth is a HUGE problem, so what if say there was a limit, where they earned say 120K which is MORE than enough to live pretty comfortably, no one really needs anymore than that, and every cent they earned afterwards was taken and invested in schools, education, healthcare etc.? No one on the planet needs huge fancy Yachts, dozens of sports cars, huge mansions etc. etc. all the money greedy wealthy people waste on such garbage would be far better spent on helping poor people, helping sick people and the like.

I don't think there should be a limit. Wealthy people making lots of money isn't the problem. The problem is the CEO making hundreds of millions of dollars and the workers getting so little they have to go on public assistance. If those workers were making a living wage, with enough left over to put aside for their retirement, I wouldn't care if the CEO was making billions every year.

You mean... the government should steal their money. Never gonna happen. You’re either going to have to work harder or figure out another way to steal from those who do.

This has been tried before. It doesnt work. If you dont pay people, they arent going to work for free. Even if they keep a small percentage, they will stop working. I remember in the days before the Reagan tax cuts, taxes were very high eveb on some working stiffs. They would turn down weekend hours on overtime, because they would only get to take home less than half of their gross pay.

Workforce participation is higher in Scandinavia than in America. They have much higher taxes.

You really think 120K would get you all of that? Here in bay area California, that'll barely get you a prius and a small apartment. Do you even live in reality? I have a feeling that your parents pay your bills, because you clearly have no idea how much stuff costs.

And do you realize that when "wealthy people waste on such garbage", they have to hire people to build all that stuff? But instead of using that wealth to generate jobs, you would rather just take it and give it to a worthless bum.

and just who is going to determine how much someone should make? you? here is a bit of reality for you, if you decide that a business owner or a wealthy person should only make a certain amount of money, then what will happen is that they will hit that mark, and close up shop until the new year rolls around when they can start making money again. and that means that the people they hire to work also get limited in the amount of money they can make unless they get a new job.

have enough rich people shut down businesses part way through the year, and guess what? we get into a recession because there will be millions of people working only part of the year, and that means millions of people on unemployment, welfare, food stamps, etc. and i am not talking about the millions already n those programs, but many millions MORE. figure an unemployment rate of something on the order of 35% or so.

your suggestion is an extremely bad idea.

No, but there should be better wages. As for the taxes, I agree that the richer you are the more you should be taxed. However, there should be better ranks. For example, if you make less than 10 million you should only be taxed 15%. If you make 100 million you should be taxed 25%, if you make 500 million you should be taxed 35%, a billion+ should be taxed 45% and loop holes should be closed because it’s ridiculous that certain companies like Netflix and Amazon payed $0 in taxes even though they make billions, while the low wage workers and middle class had to pay their share.

They stop working after they get 120k and that extra money doesn’t exist.
