"So, no: there’s little debate over the basic fact of widening inequality. The debate is over its meaning. From the right, you sometimes hear the argument made that inequality is basically a good thing: as the rich increasingly benefit, so does everyone else. This argument is false: while the rich have been growing richer, most Americans (and not just those at the bottom) have been unable to maintain their standard of living, let alone to keep pace. A typical full-time male worker receives the same income today he did a third of a century ago."

Sorry about your disability (read posts), but you really do need to study/research more to understand that wealth is indicative of a very healthy economy - that DOES and is able to support systems like schools, education, hospitals, and social support for the poor/disadvantaged. If you disagree, just research what would happen to someone in your condition in say, like Russia (which has a system more like what you suggest). All those 'fancy' assets require workers to manufacture/maintain, etc, and bolster tax-bases.

You really should focus on developing your mind (education) - it is that greatest asset you have, that can take you past your disability and elevate you to a freedom - above your situation. Yes - it is difficult - but persisting thru the difficult (& using the assets you do have) IS what separates most 'wealthy' (SUCCESSFUL) who strive to live their lives to the fullest, -vs- just letting life 'happen' to them.
There is no reason you couldn't do something - like becoming a grant-writer for a non-profit; heck, you'd have a more compelling story than most! Certainly you can find online courses/topics that could interest you and probably even get fees waived - push yourself and persist!

Nobody is "hogging all the wealth".

A lot of people have done things that have made them a boat load of money. Good for them.

People need to stop coveting what others have and thinking they have a right to it. That's called stealing.

Widening inequality will continue as long as the is inflation or economic growth. WHY? Because as inflation continues, the number of dollars keeps going up every year. So the distance between zero and whatever the richest make in inflated dollars always will appear greater. The whole income inequality whining is another liberal fraud, like global warming.

blaming wealth inequality on the rich is like saying the winning sprinter is too fast. it makes no sense.

No, it is not. Those wealthy people are the ones who create the products and the services that you use. Those wealthy people are the ones who create the jobs that you apply for and take. Without their investment into those products and services, without them taking the risk, you wouldn't have the products and services that you use, you wouldn't have any jobs.

Poor people do NOT create jobs, they do NOT invest and take risks to build a company that provides products and services, they do NOT provide anything.

Taking money from the wealthy is already done. It's done with they take the risk and invest in a new product or service. YOU benefit from their investment and their risk. Not all businesses prosper. Many businesses fail. Every investment is not guaranteed a great outcome.

No one is guaranteed a great outcome.

You know who is greedy? Those who didn't invest anything. Those who didn't take any risks. They want the wealthy to do that, AND they want their money, too. That is where the greed lies.

It doesn't matter what they "need". I guarantee you that you have more than you "need". Let's start by taking from you and giving to those who have even less than you. You don't "need" that car. You don't "need" that iPhone. You don't "need" that dinner out. You don't "need" that coffee drink every morning. You don't "need" to go to that sports game. You don't "need" to go on vacation. You don't "need" all of those clothes, etc.

The top % is not stagnate. People pop in and out of that % all the time. One year you're in, the next year you're not. You have NO idea how anything works.

The greedy little twits who don't want to invest or take risks are nothing but whiny hypocrites.

Maybe so but it's THEIR money to waste on such garbage. Even if your vision came to pass the diverted money wouldn't go anywhere but I politicians pockets where THEY would waste it on living like kings. Yea everyone within their needs everyone according to their ability. I'm paraphrasing but you envision the former USSR in spades. How did that work out?

While I might be a tad envious of mega rich folks I can't begrudge them anything. Some of the opulence might disgust me at times but that's just the way it is. I have what I need and some things I just want so I'm happy.

The mega rich that really disgust me is the Saudi monarchy. THAT'S just out of line. But that's the way it is there. Whenever you give government control over all the wealth it never ends well.

I think everyone should contribute a minimum of 15% of their earnings, from the ultra rich at the top to the poorest worker at McDonalds. Fair is fair. Right, Azureth?

Because the world is finite and ALL real wealth comes from the earths finite resources...we are not talking about stock market "value" which is wrongly called "wealth" AND 1/3 the country's GDP is now tied up in this paper value "wealth"...
While its true human ingenuity is a REAL creator of wealth and our human ingenuity is large
